Will the implantation be comfortable for chewing and talking?

Recently my mom fall down in the kitchen and broke her teeth. She told that she is fine and there is no other discomfort. But a few days later, pain developed in the upper jaw. It was clear that there is some infection in that region. We went to dentist in Scarborough. As I went there they told that there are two methods she can take, one is root canal treatment followed by crowning and the other one is implanting a new teeth. Mom told teeth implantation will be better as the region is already affected. If the infected area is to undergo implantation what are the steps that can be taken before the treatment? Is the implantation can be completed in one visit? Will the implantation be comfortable for chewing and talking? Is the there any complication while taking the treatment because the area is infected? Should my mom take any antibiotics before or after the treatment? Please give your valuable suggestions.
