I've been diagnosed 7 years ago with primary Addison's disease. I've never felt good on the steroids cortef or pred. About 4 weeks ago I got Cushing like symptoms. I felt serious pressure and adrenal surges in my head that lasted about 5 hrs every time I took my steroids. Along with a list of symptoms that match almost perfectly to steroid overdose. So I started weening down as I was seriously scared to take them any more. (Not as a science project) I know how serious this is!
Long story short I haven't had a steroid since Sunday morning. And everyday I wake up feeling better. I even went for a 2 km bike ride last night and no crisis. What's happening? It's been 5 days without my cortef and I'm still alive and doing very well? I think this case may be worth looking into as a study! Because nobody around here can give me Any answers. MRI booked may 2.
Does anybody want to become a hero? Could I be the third person in medical history to have the Addison's go away?
