Brain Benefits of Dark Chocolate

It has been found that eating dark chocolate provides a short term boost to brain function! West Virgina University found it can provide increased bloodlfow for up to 3 hours post consumption!

  • it increases endorphins, which gives a feeling of pleasure
  • it contains serotonin, which acts as an anti-depressant
  • it can reduce blood pressure in individuals with high blood pressure
  • it has been shown to reduce LDL cholesterol (the bad kind) by up to 10 percent
Dark chocolate is now being looked at as an aide for elderly people with mental impairment (think stroke or dementia)

yes sir! I always keep a bar or two of dark chocolate at my desk. I'll have one square each morning when i get in with my morning coffee. Its actually unreal the boost the brain gets. Its hard to describe, but the days I miss my chocolate, boy do I MISS having that chocolate...
