Was on Inpatient Rehab unit for 10 days after massive back surgery. While I had some very good care providers, I also had a nurse who refused to give me the pain medication that my doctor had ordered and made me wait an extra 4 1/2 hours for it - wouldn't tell my doctor I wanted to talk to her about this, wouldn't page my doctor for me, said I just had to wait the extra time, AND wrote nothing in my chart about my request or her refusal. Also woke up one night, didn't know who or where I was, fell twice trying to get to the bathroom & was on the floor when my nurse found me. She got me changed & back in bed, set alarms, but didn't tell my doctor or document anything in my medical record, so I had no follow up. This place is really scary.

After spending time in 4 different Wa. State hospitals, Swedish was hands down the best in every avenue.

I had 2 out-pt procedures here and had excellent care. It was as if I had a private nurse at all times. The unit was clean, quiet and private. They went beyond the basic service and were also helpful to my husband. I will not go anywhere else. Great staff!! Food wasn't bad either.

Lets put it this way - I drive over 50 miles to be seen at this hospital. Excellent doctors and staff. Nursing staff checks on patients on a regular basis and makes them feel they are important. What the facilities lack in modern appearance on the floors, they more than make up for in cleanliness and service (by all hospital personel). I was there for a week and would recommend Swedish to anyone. I am having to go back again for more procedures. Great not having stress about the care I will get. Keep up the great work Swedish. Your doing something right!
