where do i begin with this shame of medicine called st-mary's hospital.

1 - In 2010 I go to emergency room for an issue, several doctors see me and give me a diagnostic for something else in some other area where the pain is. 2 weeks afterwards, same pain occurs, I go to general hospital who finds and fixes the problem.

2- Had 2 family doctors, both are resident students. First was very nice and okay, although I never really went anywhere with her. She finishes her residency 6 months after and another one comes in and handles my file and from there on it went downhill. Does not really listen to you, interrupts you in the middle of your speech and just gives you the diagnostic; hell she even once gave me a dose of a medicine that does not exist on the market.

In both cases they just diagnose you and say we will give you this medicine and they go sign it by their supervisor and comeback. In over 20 visits, they never came back with a different medicine or ask more questions.

I changed to royal victoria /Mcgill and it is night and day. The resident (yes another student) listens, takes his time of asking questions gives me a plausible diagnostic and medicine. He goes to his supervisor and sometimes comes with a slightly different diagnostic and other medicine than the one he wanted to give me beforehand.

In 4 months I have done more stride than 3.25 years with the incompetents at st-mary's

Merci centre hospitalier St.Mary.

I was born at St. Mary's many, many years ago and even my mother said she was very well cared for when all 3 of her girls were born. I lived close by for years and my doctors work there, so I am there quite often. I have yet to meet a doctor who is not very competent there - or a nurse, technician, orderly, etc., etc. Everyone helps everybody else and the patients themselves and the place runs like clockwork. I feel so safe and well taken care of when I am there.

I went to St-Mary's emergency several times and I think it's getting worse over time. Tonight I went there with my friend because she had high blood pressure (162/95 which is according to their triage nurse who doesn't even speak good English or French isn't high enough) as well as nausea, dizziness, huge headache. We were not able to see the doctor at all and four hours later decided to go to the Jewish General instead. If I had enemies I would recommend this hospital to them. I thought it's called EMERGENCY for a reason but unfortunately during the night time there is no doctor to look at your test results and prescribe you the right medication. One more thing is that the security doesn't look to do their job letting several people (teenage) to go into empty triage rooms. This place is a joke.

Great hospital! Have been seeing a wonderful woman ophthalmologist at the ophthalmology clinic and could not be more satisfied. The clinic is very well run and very nice, looks brand new. Had cataract surgery 2 months ago by laser (...yes, laser! only hospital that has this technology). The nurses in the pre-op area were just fabulous, as was my surgeon.
Also delivered both my children there by ceasarien section and felt very cared for during my entire hospital stay both times.
Love this hospital. Has a much more homey feel about it than most other hospitals.

Gave birth there twice and had great service both times. I am a patient of the family medicine clinic and it was my family dr the first time and another dr from the family medicine clinic who were there for my deliveries. Great drs and wonderful staff in the birthing room. Nurses on the maternity floor are nice as well but very pushy but just doing their jobs. I havent gone in for anything else except blood tests and ultrasounds but seems to be a really good hospital...much better than the one I was going to beforehand!

I went to this hospital with a uterine infection. In crippling pain I sat in emergency waiting room for thirty hours to find out no doctor had been on staff ALL NIGHT and nobody mentioned this until after 7 AM, for them to perform a uterine biopsy in a dirty, busted room off the ER that didn't even have stirrups - and without anaesthetic or any painkillers. They were supposed to give me a prescription for antibiotics and for painkillers on discharge, and the doctor argued with me and kicked me out saying the one IV dose I got was plenty, and I 'wasn't in that much pain'. I blacked out from the pain on the car ride home.

I found out from a gynaecologist that my GP sent me to that because of their incompetence I now can't ever have children.
