After second knee replacement surgery at this hospital I have no hinges but great things to say an out he facility and nursing staff at the Montfort. Very positive feeling having any further surgery there.

Waited for hours in excruciating pain to be sent home with no prescription and no diagnosis. My throat was horribly swollen which was hurting my jaw and ear, the doctor took a quick look and told me to go see a dentist. I went to the dentist and nothing was wrong but they suggested a walk in clinic because I clearly had a horrible throat infection. Appletree on montreal road were great, after a quick look they knew it was an infection and sent me home with antibiotics. Montfort was dirty, the staff were yelling and telling jokes in the hallway all night and they just pushed me out the door without running any tests.

I was very satisfied with the services I received when I went to the sleep therapy clinic. One thing that is terrible though is the cost of the parking .... If there is space left !

A surgeon here made a report for colleagues to advise them of a procedure he had not performed on me. I was advised by another practitioner I would be having surgery which was not required. There are some excellent medical staff at Monfort who I wouldn't hesitate to deal with. Unfortunately the rate of error, in my experience, is too high.

The Montfort Hospital is slow. My wife sat in the waiting room while I pumped about 60$ into their parking meters, because the parking lot is full. Poor parking lot sizes, and 1$ gets you 8 minutes at the meter. Nothing like digging deep into the pockets of sick people already strapped by medication expenses. Ontario made so many cuts to health care. Our tax dollars hard at work. More like hardly working. Wonder where all that money goes, it's obvious it's not where it should be going.

I have been in and out of Montfort Hospital since 1976 I will not go to any other Hospital.
My child was also born there. I find the Doctors, Nurses, Administration and the total staff has ALWAYS been so nice, polite, takes their time to sit and listen to what ever the problem is and the waiting time in the Emergency was always no more then a 5 hour wait. in the Mean time there's a super clean caffiteria. .Tim Hortons.. gift shops, wheel chairs right at the enterance and the washrooms are always kept clean and sanitized and great parking ..I actually had parking free once because of a huge snow storm which took over an hour to drive 8 miles.....well I can go on ..Montfort Hospital will always be my place for medical care and for my child and my family, relatives and Friends. I have sat outside with my coffee..and actually made friends with strangers..and as for transportation the buses are right at the door. On your next visit to emerge or visiting you will see for yourself everything I had said was actually quite true and I can say you will most definitely add on to my comment even more great stuff to tell us all about our bilingual Montfort Hospital Ottawa Ontario.

I moved to Ottawa from Northern Ontario 4 years ago. I have been followed by General Surgeon, Gynes as well as an excellent Gastroenterologist who are all based out of Monfort. The staff there is friendly and curteous and as efficient as they can be.

I'll die in the gutter before going there again. In the 1960s I had two babies there, both botched deliveries. The second was the worst. No doctor available, so when delivery time came, a big heavy nurse crossed my legs and lay on top of them. Post partum, I complained repeatedly of severe abdominal pain. The reply each time: "Put an ice bag on it when you get home" !! When I did get home, I vomited so long and so forcefully I thought I would suffocate. A few days later, I suffered a massive hemorrhage. Was taken back by ambulance and given transfusions and a D&C.
More recently I had colorectal cancer and was scheduled for almost immediate surgery at the Montfort. Lucky for me, my nurse daughter rescued me from what they were planning to do and got me into the Ottawa Hospital Cancer Clinic. There, the Clinic Chief, Dr Hartley Stern, told me I was very lucky, that my daughter did me a BIG favor. I received treatment, surgery, and 12 years later I'm completely cured.
Go to the Montfort at your own risk!

Was admitted for a surgery and stayed overnight in one of the private rooms because of a particular infection. I was treated very well and with great respect and care. Staff had to wear special protective clothing before entering my room but I never heard a complaint nor was there any hesitation in providing with excellent care.
