I had the worst service there By Dr Jahangirvand when i entered the room first thing he said is i dont understand why you are here.then proceeded to become angry at family Doctors for sending patients to him that should go else where says it happens three times a week. I was very uncomfortable being the patent he decides to rant to. nothing was done for me except he said i needed a heart monitor for seven days even though my heart is fine. when i asked why he claims if i was 70 see the inconvenience of these tests when drs send patients to him for nothing. I left in tears and very confused as to why a Dr with personal issues is not taking a holiday. I will never see this dr again

RVH almost killed my daughter who was only 11 months old. Should got pneumonia and we brought her to emergency because she was struggling to breathe. They sent her home saying it was a bad cold - no chest x-ray. We took her home and after a day later our dayacare lady called us to bring her to a clinic because her breathing worsened. The lady Doctor at the clinic measure her blood oxygen which was below 50 and called the ambulance immediately. She gave us her personal cell phone number and told us not to let the RVH send her home again without a full examination and chest x-ray. They tried again to send us home and my wife and I demanded to see a Pediatrician. She came and ordered a chest x-ray. My daughter was then sent to intensive care for 4 days with serious pneumonia. They were going to send her home and I fear what would have happened. Luckily the doctor at the clinic knew what she was doing and helped us out otherwise it could have been fatal. My daughters lungs have never been the same. You need to demand the treatment required as there are incompetent staff there.

I was at RVH hospital last year in May. I feel like I need to write this as I see so many negative comments. I was septic due to kidney stones. I waited hours to be admitted but I received the best care in emergency. I was admitted and received the best care until I was well enough to come home. I ended up having to go back because I could not stop throwing up. Once again I was taken in a very short time. I was frustrated with the doctor I saw but I think that was because I was miserable from being sick. I was given some meds and sent home happy with the care I received. Went back a few months later had the kidney stones taken care of. I'm so happy to have RVH especially coming from a town with a hospital that performs limited services. Thank you RVH and the staff.

Just trying to get an ultrasound booking is a process that needs major attention! Why does the patient need to fax their own requisition? This is the total responsibility of the Doctors office and The Hospital. The patient needs to be far more respected and this process and it only delays care. How many patients have Fax machines? Why is this the responsibility of the patient? The disappointment in this facility has come to the forefront. Patients are to come first! We are not the clerical staff of the hospital. They are paid to do this job by the taxpayer. A simple booking of an ultrasound case that occurs thousands of times a year appears to be a challenge for RVH. Very disappointing.

RVH is likely the worst hospital in all of Ontario. They sent me home after a major motor vehicle accident. The Emerg dr did not TOUCH me or ASK me ANY QUESTIONS. They did only a CT and then sent me home to my 13 year old son with NO Instructions. They did not other exams on me at all. I was bleeding from my head and the DR did nothing. I could have died and the RVH could not care. They are Incompetent, they are inadequate, they are not educated in Patient care. They have horrible duplication's in their services...If you want to LIVE, PLEASE go to Orillia. At least you have a much better chance of survival. The doctors and Nurses need to be fired. The attitude is you are a patient and know nothing so shut up and do as you are told. This is how the STAFF at RVH handle their patients. SHUT THEM DOWN PLEASE>

In my opinion natural birth wasn't even a consideration, it takes too long for Dr's. 2 Oxycodone was pushed every 4hrs (i'm under 120 Lbs) along with encouraging me to breastfeed??? Was not told of side affects to BABY or myself!!They even sent me home with a big bottle, only after i fell asleep with my hand holding my baby's soother in her premature mouth for the night did i realize the severity of giving a first time mother an extremely addictive NARCOTIC drug. Ever wonder how young mothers get addicted to Oxy's? I have been rushed to "Emerg" for other reasons including a viral infection that was shutting down my kidneys and liver, given PERCOCETS AND SENT HOME!!(week later family doc prescribed medication) Another time a tooth infection that abscessed into my soft pallet, spread down my throat closing it, the doc prescribes antibiotics(accumulative)to send me home, i had to write out on paper that i needed it lanced to swallow and breathe!!!! I'd rather go any place but RVH Barrie.
