I had day surgery in April 2016 and it was great. All the staff were top notch and quickly helped me calm anxiety and answer any questions that I had. They were not in a rush to kick me out the door and made sure that I was ready to go. The pre-op (anesthetic) clinic was also top notch, they took the time to take a proper medical history and answered all the questions that I had. I didn't feel rushed and they did everything to make sure I was comfortable with both methods proposed (general anesthetic or a spinal).

No words to express my horrible experience. Go to another hospital. Just to give an idea 3 patients in emergency about 15 personnel having a good time around 2 in the morning including the doctor. I was discharged after 4 hours with no diagnosis with the excuse they need the bed and there were a lot of empty beds when I left. The doctor didn't care about me as a patient, didn't know his job and he wasn't even compassionate.

Recently got admitted for surgery on feb 16,2016. Staff and some nurses were very friendly. when it came time to go to the washroom the nurses seemed to disappear and then another nurse would show up to help you 10 minutes later. some of the nurses are very hard to understand (language barrier).. The food was horrible and the room was really hot. I had to ask for a fan.

Horrible experience. Do not recommend coming to this emerg. Drive the extra and go somewhere else. Staff did not care, were in no hurry to help. 4 patients in emerg and 7.5 hours later they were all still sitting there in the exam rooms unseen and un-assisted. Unprofessional and incompetent. Ambulances hadn't moved all night so can't even blame it on that.

I had a tonsillectomy yesterday and couldn't have been more happy with the whole experience. I was alone for majority of my stay and being the first time I have ever been anesthetized or under the knife the nurses knew I was extremely nervous. The anesthesiologist was incredible. She was easy to talk to and joke around with (unfortunately I didn't convince them to do some Liposuction) but they were amazing! Iasked them to ensure I was coherent before seeing my family and they were great about it! I was completely awake and coherent immediately. The nurses were amazing post operation in bringing me Popsicles and jello and ice chips. Very understanding about my anxiety and patient staff! I hope all future procedures I have done are here!

Have been to this hospital with 3 different family members and a friend at least 9 times in the past few years & every time was a horrible experience. Staff are rude, careless & hate to be interrupted at any time, regardless of how much your loved one is suffering, They are far too busy chatting & discussing their latest social adventures - particularly last nights pub experiences.
If you have absolutely no other choice but to go to this hospital - just stay home or have a friend drive you somewhere else - regardless of the situation you are in! By the time anyone gets around to seeing you, no matter how much pain you are in, you could be in Vancouver being treated properly. (I had no choice for my family members nor my friend in all cases, just because of the ridiculous proximity rule).

Awesome experience. My anesthesiologist was awesome. He heard me and got me what I asked for. All the nurses in SDS, OR, and RR were fabulous. I couldn't have asked for better.
