My daughter died at St. Boniface. The policy refuses giving any treatment to babies that are less that 24 weeks gestation. She was 3 days short of 24 weeks. I was in the hospital for 5 days before she was born and all I heard was that she would die once she was born. No effort was made at all for our healthy little girl. The same happened to three women I know. If any woman knows she will have a baby early, should hire a lawyer to demand treatment. Babies born at 22 or 23 weeks are simply left to die in their mother's arms. This painful event will never leave a mother's heart.

Hospital is dirty and too many staff members do not care or are burned out. I was a volunteer there for many years and I saw a lot of things that I was embarrased to see.

PROBABLY TOO DARK THEY BLEND IN - BET THEY CHARGE GOVT FOR NON-EXISTING VISITS - WHERE ARE ALL OUR CDN DOCTORS ? WE DON'T PAY THEM ENOUGH, IS THAT IT ? ARE WE CDNS THE GUINEA PIGS FOR THEM TO PRACTISE ON TILL THEY GO BACK HOME TO THEIR OWN COUNTRIES, IS THAT IT ? I AGREE WITH LAST PERSON - THIS HOSP USED TO BE THE BEST - BUT IT HAS GONE DOWNHILL DRASTICALLY REPUTATION WISE !

Now I know what it feels like to be cattle. I am convinced that everyone I encountered in my cancer care at the St. B. is just in it for the money. Their efforts to empathize with my terror has been pathetic....and there's obviously a lot of money to be made from cancer care. No tolerance, no humour, no comfort...just buck-up and take it accompanied by long sighs. Phone calls giving 8:30 am appointments for tests I've never heard of and have to consult the internet
to find out about. Are they human at the St.B. ? Having a blood test at the lab is like placing an order at McD's. Totally officious bunch. I'm old enough to know the difference between what used to be and what now is. I hope the province never gives anyone working in a hospital a raise ever again.

Went there for a burn that happened at work. Wait time in emerg took over 8 hours, even though it was a relatively slow night. When I finally got in, I was thrown in a different room to wait a couple more hours, had other patients calling for nurses but they didn't care. One nurse even said to a patient "You can get your pain meds when you stop yelling at me." They're in pain, that's what they do. Finally when the doctor came in, he told me the obvious (it's a burn), wasn't expecting much to happen, but he didn't even prescribe me anything, OR send in my file to WCB after giving me three days off from work. Thanks for scrweing me out $300!

The hospital is filthy just check in the corners and around the room. (check dirt into the wax . .)All the cleaning staff are not aware of how to clean. The evening staff hide all night and the doctors just give pain meds or sleeping pills. The hospital take c t and x rays, but there is no follow up on any of them or the blood work. And the doctors off after 4 so the care in hospitals are the nurses duty but the doctors do not listen. The good nurses and orderlies are quitting because they cannot live with what they see and are afraid to speak up. This is pretty sad. Who gave a rating on cleanliness need to look again. spend some time.
