Open beds in ER. Nurses doing nothing. Terrible hand washing. People checked in to a chair in a hallway. Nobody checking on patients. No vital signs even. Extremely subpar care. Only the house keeping staff seembto work here.

I have been to this hospital a few times now. Once for my sister's (long stay) cancer/end of life stay, once for some tests and once for surgery. Ugh. I could write in length & detail over some the nurses and their dismissive care but there is not enough room. I don't mind even a 'clinical', impersonal approach but to be so dismissive when expressing pain and discomfort (and even after receiving deep bruising to be told my skin is just sensitive????). I am a person. Not an object.

I took my son to the ER in December after a tobogganing accident. He was taken in quickly and and was given an ultrasound. The Dr said that he didn't see anything and sent us home telling me to watch him through the night. He complained of chest pain and left shoulder pain. We went home and he collapsed 2 hours later. He had a shattered spleen and was bleeding internally. Thank god for Foothills Hospital. We will never go back to South Calgary - even though it's 5 minutes from our home. There are no experienced Dr.'s there!!

I had arthroscopic knee day surgery there and the entire experience was excellent. Everyone I came in contact with from admitting through to my release was exceptionally pleasant and helpful. The entire process was efficient and reassuring with wonderful Drs and nurses. Well worth the drive out there from NW Calgary.

I ended up in the South Calgary Campus for 2 weeks in September of 2016. I entered through emergency, was taken in immediately and had a private room (due to my illness) by the 4th day. I was attended to by 5 amazing Dr's with specialties in various fields. The HCA's, LPN's and RN's on my ward were all amazing. I cant say enough good things about this hospital and the way I was treated there by everyone, including the cleaning staff who were also amazing. They saved my life and I am forever grateful.

Had my knee surgery there in July, was so pleased with how nice the entire hospital was, the nurses, for the most part, were awesome, some of the aids were a bit more aggressive but not a huge deal.

A horrible experience in both the admitting waiting area and emergency room. Staff was rude and uncaring. One of them asked me to sanitize my hand before putting the admission information on my hand. The nurse in the emergency room asked me to turn my head and not to breath directly to her. The doctor there said that his role is to rule out any life-theatening symptoms and was not interested in finding out the cause of illness. The waiting area doesn't have comfortable chairs for patients who are terribly ill and need to rest while sitting there for four or more hours to be admitted to the emergency.
