Very expensive. Cleaning staff are lovely, and classes are generally well run, and the food is palatable. Not all nurses, but many (both night and day) can be snarky, aggressive and downright rude when you express your symptoms, and will take your leave away on a whim. Many psychiatrists (if not all) have no qualms in over medicating, and neither nurse nor doctor are willing to discuss or admit possible side effects of medication. Any complaints about medication, bullying by other patients, staff etc can have the consequence of sedating you more with meds. Be careful. Honestly, the cleaning staff are more likely to be honest with you than them. TMS staff are lovely however.
If you do find yourself here, stay out of the smoking area and attend all the classes. Do not be afraid to speak up about your medication and treatment. Understand that you have the RIGHT to be treated with both dignity and respect, and the RIGHT to refuse medication and ask for a SECOND OPINION. It is a voluntary hospital, and if you are suffering from drug induced psychosis (or what they label as an 'adverse drug reaction') detox properly. There is a detox and rehab unit there. Keep a log or diary about your medication and how you feel about your symptoms. This place is not a popularity contest and don't let anyone cajole you into being lectured and sedated. If you are not improving, there are other practices and clinics out there. Good luck.

There was no leadership on the Unit - on one occasion the mainly Agency staff weren't managing and a patient (who had been a Psych Nurse) had to calm patients and organise the staff! True!

I think that this psychiatric hospital proves that biggest is not always best. But there were some redeeming features so it was not all bad. The facilities in terms of the rooms were quite good with a lot of single rooms, which is really important to me. The nursing varied with some of them lovely and some quite nasty. It seemed to come down to the nurse unit manager with some nurse unit managers promoting great and caring behaviour with others condoning poor behaviour. I have been to two different units and seen the difference. So whoever is in charge of the whole place needs to get some uniformity going! The food was pretty good considering the amount of patients they have to feed but my biggest complaint is that for a hospital that size there are not enough programs and big enough rooms. People wanting to go to a group session would turn up 15 minutes in advance and the poor psychologists running them (who were good quality overall) had to endure the agony of turning away patients who turned up on time. If they converted some of the (revenue-producing) patient rooms to create more space for patient groups I would rate this clinic much more highly! The location is lovely, you could walk into the city if you feel like it and it is on a tram line with Coles just a couple of blocks away, but they really need to get their act together with staff and facilities. I can recommend Delmont for a way more caring experience (and also mainly single rooms!)

This is the worst hospital . Staff are absolute shockers as are Pychitrists !! Luckily got my family member out or would have lost her in the cracks of this system. Its like one big cult whom stick together and have no care for their patients . Staff members here are the ones in need of psychiatric assessment . What I witnessed at this hospital is just pure disgust ! Do not send a loved one here as they will never recover ... Close this place down now.

Like many places you get diferent reviews. No doubt they have some good psychiatrists, but we got a shocker. No names, but he is old, medication centric, not interested in any problems and in my opinion, way past his used by date.

Awful place. Still feel traumatised. The main focus of this hospital is to charge ridiculous
amounts of money for very poor services/treatment.
