I saw Rea for slightly less than a year. Please be aware - she has been poisoned with the tendency to play political games. Her promises from the start were beyond what she was able to provide. She also claims to be very professional and accountable for her own emotional reactions but then she leaves you wanting when it comes time for her to explain. Rea proved to be incapable of appropriately handling clients with a personality disorder; when a standard transference/counter-transference happened she was at a loss for how to effectively work with me to uncover the roots of the issue and to find a way forward. She identified a transference six months into treatment and assured me that things would work out okay "as long as the transference was understood". In the end she proved incapable of helping her client uncover and deal with the negative transference and the therapeutic alliance failed about six months later. From my perspective, Rea must restrict her practice to work with people without personality disorders of any kind and she must be up-front and honest from the start about her limitations. I suspect that she would be successful only treating trauma and performance enhancement issues with her skill set.
