Ratings for Dr. Michael Neszt

I ended my care with this provider after three sessions because the experience was consistently unprofessional, uncomfortable, and emotionally draining. From the very first appointment, I felt like more time was spent talking about himself than actually getting to know me as a patient. Sessions felt robotic, dismissive, and lacking basic empathy. I was repeatedly questioned about information already available in my file in a way that felt condescending rather than supportive. Instead of creating a safe environment, the communication often came across as arrogant and narcissistic. During my final session, the interaction became aggressive and confrontational. When it came up that I may seek another opinion, the focus immediately shifted to billing concerns rather than patient care, including comments about “double dipping.” Most providers would typically respond with something along the lines of wishing the patient well, encouraging self-advocacy, or simply thanking them for their honesty, but instead the call was abruptly ended without any closure after I stated I would not be continuing care. I understand not every provider is the right fit, but patients deserve to feel heard, respected, and cared for. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here, and I truly feel for more vulnerable patients who may not feel comfortable advocating for themselves.
Dr. Neszt manages my care and has been a consistent contributor to my mental health over the past three years. Differences in perspective are handled constructively, reflecting a modern patient–physician dynamic where access to information often outpaces formal training. The resulting push and pull maintains a disciplined dialogue and leads to mutual understanding. I respect his clinical judgment and value the role he continues to play in my care. (4/5)
Best psychiatrist ever. Truly. He helped me to change my life for the better. Eternally grateful.
I have been Dr.Neszt's patient for nearly 2 years. He has been a great help to me. I was in a very bad shape when I started to see him. He was a good listener, was always patient with me and had very useful suggestions. I am very grateful to have him as my doctor.
I started seeing dr. Neszt in 2018 while in university completing my bachelors. Within the 6 years that I saw him he was very helpful and gave me access to pretty much every kind of outlet for additional therapy including DBT therapy (which helped greatly) and even access to trying medical cannabis for anxiety and chronic pain. As the pandemic hit there was regressing into old self sabotaging habits which he witnessed me fall into, yet he remained professional. If you’re presently under Dr. Neszt’s care and have concerns or feel tension within meetings, etc. talk to him about it. In my humble opinion, I think upon entering sessions it’s important to know 1) where you’re at in life 2) where you want to be 3) and assess (with his help) what’s getting in the way. I was released from care 2 years ago. Personally, it was hard in the beginning going solo without MH support. There is a grievance process. But I believe, thanks to Dr.Neszt and other professionals at the care unit…I’ll be okay. You will too.
I’ve been seeing Dr. Michael Neszt for a few months now, and he has made a significant difference in my mental health. He shows genuine empathy and patience, and it’s clear that he truly cares about his patients. Dr. Neszt always takes my concerns seriously, provides thoughtful guidance, and consistently runs on time. I feel heard, supported, and respected in every session, and I’m very grateful for the care he provides.
I had a meeting with him, worst meeting of my life. All he did was talk down to me, claim my cannabis use is the reason for my mental health issues (despite me going into detail about all my horrible life experiences) I was so uncomfortable and this dr was just a inconsiderate, cold and rude person. I’ve never felt so belittled and small.. it really does suck, and I hope he can learn to be more compassionate. Your coldness could be the reason someone goes down a deeper path- we go to you because we need help. Not to be small.
I have seen him a few times. As others have said, he has a terrible habit of constantly looking at his phone, complaining about everything and behaving like robot rather than an empathic human being. I do not recommend him to anyone and will be lodging a complain formally.
met with this psychiatrist about a month ago and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing and more stressful than helpful. Throughout the session, he frequently checked his phone, which was placed directly in front of him on the desk. While he wasn’t holding or texting on it, he looked at it repeatedly—well over 20 times—during our appointment. I’ve never had a doctor behave this way before, and I found it quite disrespectful. It made me feel like whatever was happening on his phone was more important than the concerns I was sharing. I came in struggling with PMDD, anxiety, and depression—none of which were meaningfully addressed. Instead, most of the session was spent entering medications into his computer from a list I had provided. His suggestions felt like guesses rather than informed recommendations, which only heightened my anxiety. Additionally, he mentioned referring me to a CBT therapist for one-on-one support, but that referral never happened. When I followed up by email, the phone call I received in return left me feeling gaslighted and further invalidated. Overall, the experience felt dismissive and disconnected. I’ve since requested a different psychiatrist, as I believe mental health care should be centered on empathy, attentiveness, and professionalism—none of which I felt I received during this appointment.
Dr Neszt would benefit from checking his bias during conversations with patients. He seems to have a concrete understanding of the individuals, and this is reflected in his pointed questions that come across as passive aggressive. He doesn't meet his patients where they are, but where they want them to be. Meeting his patients with empathy and trust would help nourish healthy relationships with patients and staff.
