I am a doctor and had to have hernia surgery done. After doing my own research I found Dr. Iacco to be most competent to operate. His bed side manner is just as good as his surgical skills. He’s empathetic, knowledgeable, and extremely skilled with hernia repair. He’s the leading robotic hernia repair specialist in the country. If you need a hernia repaired or abdominal reconstruction surgery I would save you the many different doctors visits and just see Dr. Iacco.

An absolute waste of time, energy, and "hope". A four-minute office visit to discuss and diagnose a complex abdominal wall situation was a farce. Walking into the examination room without reviewing the medical records I compiled, gently tapping my distended belly and abdomen three times, and reviewing film that was over three years old, does.not constitute a through examination or consult. You should be thoroughly embarrassed to charge a co-pay for such a flimsy and half-hearted encounter. There's no other way to state it: you failed in your duty to evaluate a patient's symptoms and determine the most appropriate course of treatment to address them.

Biography

Dr. Iacco is an attending physician at William Beaumont Hospital-Royal Oak where he helped to pioneer the practice of retromuscular hernia repair, and Assistant Professor of Surgery at Oakland University William Beaumont. He has a specialty interest in the care of patients with hernia and abdominal wall issues, and has performed more than 1000 robotic surgeries. He is board certified in general surgery and surgical critical care, with additional fellowship training at the Shock Trauma Center. He has extensive experience in the care of critically ill surgical and medical patients. Dr. Iacco has extensive experience in the field of open and robotic abdominal wall surgery for hernias. He has published numerous papers in the past few years highlighting the hernia care of patients at Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital. He is also an active participating member of the American Hernia Society Quality Collaborative. Dr. Iacco has extensive experience in the field of open and robotic abdominal wall surgery for hernias.
