Ratings for Dr. Anike Olubukola, Maxwell
Words like "malpractice" & "negligent" come to mind. She dismissed me after 2 years of begging her to take my injury seriously, trying to shove irrelevant and dangerous medication at me month after month. She acted like it was the first time we met, every time, and was completely useless. Refused me an MRI, unless I agreed to take myriad mind altering drugs which were not remotely appropriate for my injury. The next time in after a 2 hr wait as usual, (as she told me I had to come in said day to report 30 days on them) she asked why I was taking them!! I was stunned. I said she made me take them for 30 days and if they didn't help, I'd be allowed an MRI, but that the drugs made me nearly suicidal, and luckily I knew it was just the pills, and did my best to ride it out. Then she said to double the dose (?!), come back in another month. That was it. I never once asked for pain medication, I wanted things like x rays, scans, a Dr who had any lights on in their head or heart to care. I left, feeling beyond angry and played with. I got a new Doctor and lo and behold, an MRI revealed a simple but very serious diagnosis. Maxwell cost me two years of my health condition degenerating. I can never get that back. I was professional, calm, and a concerned advocate for my health; she was none of those things. She is a fraud, an opportunist. Her staff must write the good reviews on here. How this poor city ended up with her, I will never know. Beware.
I am happy with this clinic. One thing I particularly like is the incredible service they provide to children by not turning any sick child away, even when fully booked. To me, this is getting the care needed now. Perhaps being a mum herself, Dr Maxwell seems to understand waiting at emerg is not particularly fun.
Dr Maxwell is such an exceptional female Physician I have ever met . Takes her time to explain , does not rush. She goes over and beyond her call to ensure your overall well being. You can hardly escape not having done your routine blood check, etc. Even when you attend for something different. Quite thorough and dedicated Physician .
I think I have now observed this Doctor for long enough. Genuine interest in our health. Knowledgeable and takes her time . Great communication skills and she is A* when it comes to empathy. I used to get upset when she runs late but not anymore since the day I needed more than usual. I think by far the best and most contemporary doctor's office ever ! Would have been nicer if their doors open automatically for wheelchair accessibility though.
I find Dr Maxwell to be knowledgeable, genuinely caring and compassionate. One of the few Doctors that would put her foot down against unnecessary opiates and narcotic prescription. One of the few that bothered to review unnecessary prolonged use of same. We need more like this Doctor to help combat some of our City wide unnecessary prescription drug use. Yes she does run late , but she is absolutely worth waiting for. I do not feel rushed and I feel well explained to. One of the few that would take her time to show you medical resources on line to explain your results etc. She is almost absolutely thorough to a fault. She does not just prescribe antibiotics unless you truly require it. Unfortunately these all take time. Absolutely confident in this Doctor.
Sadly, I agree with many of the negative comments. It is way too long of a wait every time I need to visit, always a minimum of an hour. Very frustrating as I have to take time off work to sit and wait. I also agree about Christine, very rude and abrupt. No bedside manner at all talks about personal things in front of patients, plus has no problem telling you to just wait. Another frustration is the level of the volume on the TV. Every time I go in, that TV is blaring so loud. Turn it down for goodness sake. It is meant as a distraction to pass the LONG WAIT, not a movie theatre. I also will am looking for a new doctor, unfortunately, they aren't easy to come by.
