We looked at several choices in selecting a doctor for my cousin and decided Dr. Eldahmy based on the recommendation of another physician and his comprehensive and thorough approach. Dr. Eldahmy takes time in evaluating patients and has been exceedingly professional and accommodating with regards to scheduling. He is genuine, caring, and you always know he has your full attention. My cousin has seen several psychiatrists however none have helped and supported her like Dr. Eldahmy. He was able to bring her into gradual awareness identifying most of the root cause of her depression and also prescribed the right medication that works best for her. His treatment modality helped her change her life. When you go to his office you will feel a calming effect and of course there is total privacy. No unpleasant front office here, they have always worked with my cousin's hectic work schedule and are open on Saturdays. They are quick to respond to emails, phone calls, and flexible with appointment scheduling. Thank you Dr. Eldahmy for helping my cousin, I see a huge difference in how she was and is now and I could not be happier for her.

I was to be a new patient of Dr. Eldahmy, MD (Laguna Behavioral) on July 1st. I waited approximately 3 weeks for the appointment. My primary care physician felt it was necessary for a specialist to look at my depression medication since it was losing effectiveness. Dr. Eldahmy’s office got me scheduled and sent me a new patient packet that included a bunch of history forms to fill out as well as a HIPAA disclosure. When I arrived today, was asked for my ID and insurance card (normal procedure). I was then presented with a “Physician-Patient Arbitration Agreement” that was one page single spaced with an entire contract that apparently waived my right to trial. Of course this gave me pause and I told the receptionist I was not comfortable signing this without time to read it and understand what this meant. I was told the doctor would refuse to see me if I did not sign it. I signed it, but noted on the form “signed under protest.” After waiting another 5 minutes to my assigned appointment time, I was greeted by Dr. Eldahmy who immediately said “we cannot see you today. I am sorry.” And then started to turn his back. I immediately inquired as to why. He then reiterated what he said and then said “maybe we can squeeze you in some other time... wait for us to call you.” I then said this was not customary and that I had taken time off of work for this appointment that I had waited some time for. He then walked into his office and came out with the “Physician-Patient Arbitration Agreement” I had just signed. He pointed to my note and stated with a raised voice that this was “entirely unacceptable.” I immediately pointed out that they did not disclose that I would have to sign this and did not include it in their new patient packet. I further stated that I was given it right before my appointment and told to sign it or he would not see me. He then, in my opinion, alluded to my behavior in not signing it as inappropriate. I told him that, in my opinion, this was very unprofessional. He told his receptionist to refund my co-pay. I then stated that I would complain to the medical board, my insurance company, and leave appropriate feedback on social media. He refused to provide his medical license number when asked. He then said that he would be monitoring social media and that they have “legal means” to stop me from saying anything about him or his firm. In my opinion, to further exacerbate the situation, he then inferred that I was threatening him. I even questioned if he thought that considering I never said anything of the sort. He grew silent. He then instructed the receptionist to refund my co-payment. I insisted on waiting for a receipt. He asked why I was still not leaving. I told him I would leave when I was provided a receipt. Once I was given the receipt I left, never to go back. I am not making any statement to his quality as a medical doctor (Psychiatrist), making any statement pro/con arbitration, nor inferring anything about the quality of Dr. Eldahmy’s care. I am posting the facts of what happened today. Future patients should be completely aware that they will be asked to sign an arbitration agreement they “…are giving up their constitutional right to have any such dispute decided in a court of law before a jury, instead are accepting the use of arbitration.”
