Ratings for Dr. Grace Chua
Staff is horrible. they don't call back. They have this poor me excuse or blame one another. Oh thats not my job its hers. This is childish excuses. Where is the team work. Dr Chua runs test and doesn't see you for months sometimes a year. Well those tests now are no good things could have changed. Does the Dr not keep a record of who she see's and runs tests on and wonder why she hasn't seen them for results. When walking into her office and looking behind the front desk that should give all of us a message. There unorganized. where is there filing system....its either on the floor or on a chair like really Dr Chua open your eyes and look at your office and not just the money coming in
If you are complaining about Dr. Chua, you have not dealt with any other cardiologists in the Toronto area. Her staff are bit eccentric and seem a bit uppity. I can't blame Dr. Chua for punctuality because she works at the hospital and just can't walk out and leave if there is an emergency. I expect to be in the waiting room for a while. Regardless, Dr. Chua is very knowledgeable and is up to date on the latest in cardiology. She understands that many of the heart related medications have side-effects, so she doesn't try to force anything upon anyone. (At least not with me). I find her very friendly and helpful. I've been her patient for 15 years and I am going strong! I have dealt with some highly rated cardiologists at the teaching hospitals but I find Dr. Chua to be more useful than them.
worst staff ever, previous patient and the lost the new referral twice and blamed it on my gp. They never answer the phones and take months to return a call. They have an excuse for everything. I work in healthcare and I would not have a job if I responded to patients this way. Why do she keep these lazy incompetent women! they are a joke. My mom switched cardiologist due to the uncaring and awful staff. Think twice about going to this cardiologist.......until she fires her incompetent staff
The staff here are the worst I've ever experienced. They rarely answer the phone so you always have to leave a message and then they don't return your call. I've been trying to get a test for my mother rescheduled since February, it's now June. I asked someone about it in February and since then I left 3 messages over about 6 weeks and never got a call back. In April I actually went to the office to ask why the test wasn't scheduled & I was given some excuse about the Dr. being out town (for 3 months???). They then told me that the requisition would be sent to the hospital at the end of the week (April 25). When I hadn't heard anything by May 27 I called the hospital - they still didn't have the requisition!! I called Dr. Chua's office and someone actually answered the phone! I told them the situation & they said they would speak with the Dr. and get back to me. It's now June 6 and no one has called. I called again today and their voicemail was full! Don't go to this Doctor!!
she is the most amazing dr my family has seen for a specialist. She actually cares for her patients. My mother in law has a pacemaker put in by Dr. Richmond who caused my mother in law more issues that we are now having to deal with. My father in law had Dr. Chua and she took action right away. In less then a week he had his pacemaker and was on the road to feeling better. If any other family member needs to see a heart Dr. there is only one choice for us and that is Dr. Chua
I do not have any confidence in Dr. Grace Chua's knowledge as a cardiologist. She was not thorough and percise in diagnosis. Without knowing any history about the patient, she RECOMMENDS medication which does contradicts with patient's medical condition. Her diagnosis changes everyday. She has a systemic and categorical approach of sending patients for EPS to Lakesault Hospital(Electrophysiology Study) which is a very invasive intervention and in most cases is absolutely unnecessary. Please get the second opinion and don't go merely with her advice ABOUT EPS. She does not provide a report containing her findings ,tests and a percise diagnosis to the patients at the time of discharge from lengthly stay in hospital.Later on, her reports to Family doctor is a bunch of misrepresentation of the facts in order to cover up herself. Her reports due to her English incompetency is not clear but confusing. I do not recommend this doctor. BE VERY CAUTIOUS.GET SECOND OPINION.
Staff responsiveness is poor. Messages left are not returned. In office they do not provide any information (eg. Dr is late sit and wait.) And Doctor Chua will likely be late. In my two appointments I waited 45 minutes and 1 hour and 30 minutes past my appointment time. Dr Chua is very direct and matter of fact even in the absense of having full information. In my case her diagnoses was EXTREMELY premature and turned out to be TOTALLY WRONG. Take her guidance with caution until verified by others.
Dr. Chua failed to diagnose severe heart problems - told me that my blood pressure was high because I had "White Coat Syndrome". In a subsequent Angiogram at Sunnybrook another blockage was found and fixed by a cardiologist that did not tell me it was all in my head. The new Doctor said that the blockage could be clearly seen on the films from Dr. Chua. I was kept waiting for at least 3 hours at each visit for no diagnosis and no effective treatment! Would recommend Sunnybrook and would not ever recommend Dr. Chua
