Ratings for Dr. Michael Weatherhead
The receptionist is actually really nice once you get to know her. Dealing with all the different people all day everyday can't always be peaches and roses. I've personally watched people take out wait times and stuff on her. Dr weatherhead has his own patients as a family practice as well as takes walk ins, if you're going as a walk in you really shouldn't complain. That's what family doctors are for! The wait is long but obviously he's doing something right to have so many patients. I've been annoyed at the wait times sometimes but it's normal and once I see the doctor I'm over it because he's so nice.
Waited for 2.5 hrs with a pinched nerve in my neck, he wouldn't prescribe me anything!...Told me to take hot showers and it would loosen up the muscles. Also, did a urine test, (that came back perfectly fine) and still wouldn't give me anything...No idea why he wanted urine if he had no intentions in the first place. Will not be returning!
Worst Secretary ever! Extremely rude. Had the worst experience in this office. Dr. Wheatherheads seems to be obvious to the fact that his secretary is not a people person in any sense of the word. Dr. is a nice man but put the wrong name on my prescription. When the pharmacist tried to call to get the right name on it he was put on hold for 40mins and hung up on twice. I then went back to the office and went right into his office he didn't even know that the pharmacist was on hold! This secretary should not be working with the public! Extremely unprofessional! Zero rating. Will never go back there again! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!
Very old and slow. Rude receptionists. How can a walk in clinic make you wait 3 hours when its just 3 people in the waiting room. After you wait hours he doesnt help you, give you a prescription or nothing. He always claims that you should see your family doctor. They why the heck do you have a walk in clinic? Their tactic after they swiped your health card you wait a long time you get fed up and go. I have shit to do !!! He needs to retire. He shakes holding everything. Very unwelcoming clinic. Rude receptionists those two philipinos immigrant receptionists
*** Avoid at all costs *** This man is past his prime, is dangerous and should have his license revoked (I've personally lodged a complaint against him with the Ontario College of Surgeons and Physicians). He is *CLEARLY* only interested in making money from having as many repeat patients as he can get...whether they want to be there or not! He will issue you a prescription for blood pressure medication, but make it valid for one month only. There is NO MEDICATION on this planet which can correct blood pressure issues in the space of 30 days; it's a process that takes years and also requires lifestyle adjustments. All that "Dr." Weatherhead is interested in is making certain you take the medication, and then force you to suffer side-effects unless you are willing to see him again (so he can run your OHIP card). Fun side-story; I was taking 2 mg of Ativan for 12 months after suffering a heart attack in June 2013. Ativan is a very addictive drug (benzodiazepine) with severe withdrawal symptoms and is very dangerous if discontinued suddenly. It can lead to death. Well, when I asked this irresponsible physician to start reducing my dosage so that I could be safely taken off of it, he instead decided to outright discontinue my prescription, stating (and I quote verbatim) "I don't do tapering, and withdrawal's not my problem". So I spent the next 10 days vomiting, suffering heart arrhythmias and severe vertigo, tinnitus and cramping simply because of his ego, or lack of professionalism, or...whatever it is. I also lost my job because I could not sleep normally for weeks afterwards. If this was the U.S.A., I would be suing this man for every penny he has, and then I'd donate it to cancer research. That would do more medical good than this man can possibly accomplish anymore.
Dr. Weatherhead knows his stuff by far the best doctor I have ever had. He takes his time and you can tell he cares. Unlike most doctors these days who rush through patients just to get paid. I certainly would recommend him to anyone. As for the comments on here about long vacations and high wait times ??? Well I have never had waiting time issues and as for long vacations, well, he must be pushing 75 or 80 years of age , he deserves a couple of long vacations a year. He could have easily retired comfortably a decade or two ago... He loves his job and patients so much he hasn't. Let him rest a few times a year. He is Old School and knows his profession extremely well. The last of a dying Breed. We are lucky he is still in the business. The End.
