Ratings for Dr. Deborah A. Faryniarz
Dr Faryniarz performed a miracle for my shoulder! I had a very extensive injury, two of the four rotator cuff muscles were completely torn and the bicep was 80% torn. Could not even lift my arm. Five months after the surgery I am pain free and the arm is fully functional! The physical therapist Dr Faryniarz recommended was incredible, helped me a lot through the recovery. With 100% confidence I could recommend Dr Faryniarz to anybody with shoulder problems. I fully trust her skills and experience! Dr Faryniarz is also very nice to talk to! She explains everything in simple understandable terms. Thank you, thank you, thank you Dr Faryniarz!!!
Going to Dr Faryniarz is like being a professional athlete and having your own world class surgeon dedicated to you and your care. Because of her expertise, my shoulder has had a full, fast, and complete recovery. If I have another shoulder or knee surgery, she will by my surgeon. I cannot recommend her highly enough. Impressively, besides her mechanical engineering degree from UC Davis, her medical degree from Harvard, and her residency at Cornell’s Hospital for Special Surgery in NY (the number #1 ranked Orthopedic center in the US), while staying there to do her fellowship, she served as an associate physician for the New York Mets Major League Baseball team. She really is world class! Dr Faryniarz was impressive from the start. Having worked in the medical industry, I heavily researched surgeons and options. All of Dr Faryniaz’s reviews were amazing. I sent an email that Saturday with some of my question to the address on her website and got an answer from her that day. In my first appointment the following week, I got a full and impressive work-up and diagnosis, including on site x-rays and an ultrasound of my shoulder done by her. She reviewed everything with me that day. She said that although I had some arthritis and small rotator cuff tears, these did not require surgery and that my frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis) was at a stage that had a small (20%) chance of recovery without surgery via physical therapy and anti-inflammatory treatments and that we should try this to see if we could avoid surgery. Note: Dr Faryniarz does not have any physical therapists working for her. After a few months of physical therapy it was clear my shoulder wasn’t getting better. Dr Faryniarz went over all the surgical options with me including all my questions on the pros and cons of how to deal with my impinged bicep tendon as there are pros and cons to the different approaches. She said she wouldn’t know the best approach until she saw the inside of my shoulder, but she would decide on what to do as if I was her professional football player brother: can’t ask for more than that. The surgical center was very professional. The surgery happened just as she said and Dr Faryniarz’s personal follow-up and that of her staff was first rate and personable. Even though my shoulder was one of the tightest, most inflamed and scarred shoulders she had seen, she managed to do enough other work that in my case my bicep tendon did not need to be operated on. This was a knowledgeable and experienced risk that she took on my behalf because the easy choice for the surgeon would have been to have just operated on it, too. I appreciate a surgeon that understands and practices that sometimes less can be more. I recovered faster and with less pain than expected. And my physically therapist and Neuromuscular massage therapist (who had had shoulder surgery) were both impressed enough to ask for all of Dr Faryniarz’s information so they could refer patients to her (I don’t live near Dr Faryniarz’s office). In one of my follow up visits I asked Dr Faryniarz if she did anything special that gave me a faster less painful recovery. Knowing my work in medical device, she shared with me a long list of fine details and subtleties she does and takes into account to make the results the best they can be. I work with top level minimally-invasive doctors all over the world and I could not be more impressed with detail, dedication and mastery she has. My wife was equally impressed on all counts and it’s great to have my shoulder back for hang gliding, kayaking and other sports. Dr Faryniarz is an exceptional, minimally-invasive orthopedic surgeon. Every aspect of her care was world class. Thank you Dr Faryniarz! Note: I usually don’t write such long reviews, but choice of a surgeon, is such an important decision that after my experience I wanted to share enough detail to help others decide.
I had gone to another orthopedic surgeon before Dr. Faryniarz, and it was obvious that this doctor was suffering burn-out and didn't approach my case with a lot of enthusiasm. Luckily one of my neighbors recommended Dr. Faryniarz. She is awesome! My shoulder surgery was easy, the pain was minimal, and the recovery has been much easier than I anticipated. Dr. Faryniarz is very detailed in her approach; she likes to educate her patients. She is thorough and absolutely wonderful. I love my new shoulder and would go back if I had any other orthopedic needs.
My life has been nothing but pains and aches for the last couple years this pain has crippled me and has landed in this isolated world of doctors out there that do not care really for the obvious symptoms and want to fix you up with a couple pills And the chiropractors, desperate I start searching for the best doctors in the Bay Area and I was able to find but the Dr.Deborah A Farniarz on my first appointment I feel some hope she heard me out ,the connection between patient and doctor was there and I was told that there was hope and she could fix his problem sure enough after the surgery I no longer experience pain I'm off all nasty medication and it's only been a month after my surgery and I'm seeing huge improvements I'm sleeping tonight like baby and my mood has changed 360° I can't thank you enough from the bottom of my heart.😉
Dr. Faryniarz repaired my torn meniscus and her knowledge, staff, office and bedside manner was top notch. Her sports medicine clinic is a very professional and pleasant place to go for any type of knee or shoulder surgery in the San Jose area. Highly recommended!
She is an amazing surgeon. Her bedside manor is wonderful. She took the time to explain my injury and explain what my choices are to fix it. She is calm, pleasant and has very good energy which made the whole process easier. I needed a graft to fix my ACL and she didn't like the one that was sent, so she postponed my surgery a few hours so she could receive one the was right for me. Her assistant is extremely knowledgable as well. I met with her on some of my post ops and she didn't miss a beat. She was able to answer my questions and inform me of my progress. Lastly, the office staff was professional and very pleasant to interact with.
