I have been seeing him for years and have never had any issues. Great bedside manners and takes a genuine concern with his patients.

New to town, my husband was delighted to get away from the clinics and see a real professional for a fainting spell; it was just a medication dosage adjustment. The second thing problem listed on the new patient form was his memory loss, which was addressed by memorizing a few words and drawing a clock. He passed (I guess). He was not forthcoming with information and it continued to worsen. In his next yearly exam in 2017, it was the same. In addition, for 2 valid reasons , my husband requested that he approve a Dial-a-Ride application that was coming in the mail to the doctor. [In summary] He said that because of my husband's smoking he wouldn't approve it because he didn't want his tax paying dollars going to a smoker. I called after it was denied service (didn't return it) and the doctor said that my husband would need to make an appt. for doctor approval. My husband didn't need a long lecture about smoking so decided to wait for next checkup. This time ,I his wife, went with him. The doctor did a 180 degree turn of his demeanor; I assume because I was present. Memory loss was brought up again, again clock drawing and word memorization. He has had blood work done more than once and results have never been mentioned. In general, he is rude, and does not "care" for smokers and poor people (literally). My husband has run out of refills on blood pressure, yet they didn't call and say he needed to schedule a checkup now. In summary, we were very disappointed in the care level of UCHealth, which was no better than the physician assistants at the "clinics". It is checkup time again and I scheduled him with another doctor at UCHealth. We're keeping our fingers crossed.

My mom (83) was brought to the ER and addmitted to the hospital where she stayed for 4 days. I emailed Herrera to ask if he had seen my mom, what the diagnosis was and what his future health plan would be. i received an email from Gina, she's wonderful, who said she'd contact me as soon as diagnosis was made. after 5 days there has been no call or information from Herrera. I have Hippa rights so that's not an issue. a couple of years ago my dad got very sick and herrera failed to keep me informed of test results. I had to stay in fort collins for 5 weeks to help out. I am very proactive and ask herrera questions about both my mom and dad's health. When my parents first began seeing herrera, he spent time answering questions. Since then he does not spend the amount of time my parents require or notify me of unusual tests when i request them. I didn't care for herrera when i met him 3 years ago but it is unacceptable, as my parent's physican, that they are uninformed about my mom's condition and that herrera doesnt communicate with me. Herrera would probably be ok for someone who is healthy and doesnt need much maintainance. He is deffinately NOT a good geriatric doc!

New doctor. Very nice personality. When he first arrived he was exceptionally nice to patients. That faded alittle over time which may have been influenced by his doctor partner and some degree of burn-out. Left quickly as soon as his contract was up. Vast majority of his patients loved him and he did very well for a young man just starting out in his profession.
