Ratings for Dr. Francis X. Walsh
The staff is the worst I have seen-especially the "person" who checks you in to see Dr.Walsh. The elderly woman is EXTREMELY RUDE, CONDESCENDING and for some reason thinks she is the doctor! This practice is much too large, having too many patients, which they cannot handle. They do not even know who you are most of the time. There are MANY misdiagnosis'. Prescriptions are handed out very freely without knowing what the problem is--a lot given over the phone without an office visit because "they don't have time" or "it's too late on a Friday afternoon". Do not waste YOUR time for this type of "care".
Been going to him for several years. He's very good doctor. His staff quite bad: messages many times not given to doctor at all; if call after hours getting the service they'll fax messages to office and the office decides (not Dr. Walsh at all) what messages the doctor can see or not see. That means, if the office personnel doesn't feel like giving the meesages (from after hour answer service from evening before) to the doctor, and decides for the doctor what messages he CAN get--whether leaving a message during normal office hours for doctor to call you back later OR, when answer service faxes messages to office for Dr. Walsh, from night before or, during their lunch hour. This is very bad. Very hard to also get through to office to make an appointment. Unfortunately, he has always had and still has, lousy staff working for him. Dr. Walsh himself, is one of very few excellent doctors around NY & CT area.
Could be better and wish was less harried and rushed. Did notice he has made few mistakes with my needed prescriptions. A few times he wrote wrong ones then handed it to me before he rushed out of exam room. It's scary when that happens. I told him this error and he seemed annoyed when he had to correct it and had to write my correct prescriptions. Fortunately, I noticed and caught the error before he rushed to exit room. I am worried and concerned since this has happened. I used to trust his knowledge and ability as my doctor. Since its happened few times I'm always guarded and concerned hoping he will not mess up my prescriptions and give possible misdiagnosis. He seems to have lost his touch as an excellent doctor, for a while now. I'm very concerned. I still go to him being guarded and still, with reservations. Not many doctors these days take new patients. I need continued medical care and feel stuck because, can't find doctor who takes new patients, accept medicare.
He's good physician, unfortunately always over booked (support staff problem reason why) where doesn't have time enough to spend as should with each patient who see him in office. Don't bother asking about the support staff, not printable. Beyond this aspect, he's very good physician. I've referred many people to him over the years...who still go to him, to date.
