I have seen Dr. Helms for over 6 years, since suffering nerve damage resulting in very painful Neuropathy. He understands the difficulty I have in working & trys to figure out which meds or therapy will help me achieve my goal to keep working. He suggests new medications that may help & switches to new ones if they don't work. Also, he understands it is difficult to take a lot of time off work for appointments & asks what works for me. He listens and also takes into consideration what my other doctors are doing for me. I have had positive visits with Dr. Helms

I was sent to Dr Helms by my employer insurance company for a work injury. His conclusion was that I was hurt at work while working but I was fat and therefor it was my fault. We took that to court and here are the judges words. “I found Dr. Hope’s (my Dr) explanation to be well reasoned and consistent with the facts in evidence. I consider it to be much more compelling explanation then the body habitus theory offered by Dr. Helms In light of the fact that the employee has weighed essentially the same for the last 13 years and has had no problem with abdominal wall pain – despite doing heavy repetitive work until his injury on September 7th 2006 it is unclear how Dr Helms reaches the conclusion weight has impacted the employees condition. Dr Helms offers no anatomical Explanation for such a casual connection nor is there any logical/common sense connection apparent.” Dr Helms cost me my job and my home all because he has issues with people overweight.
