I recently had RNY surgery with Dr. Richi. He is an extremely knowledgeable doctor who strives for excellence. His pre-op care and post op care are Excellent. His staff is also knowledgeable and readily accessiable. Dr. Richi expects for every patient to follow a very detailed post op program which includes monthly support meetings. The patient is also expected to meet with Dr. Richi on months 1, 3, 6, 9 and 12 for follow up care. Prior to surgery, Dr. Richi gives a homework assignment. This assignment is about a 4 to 5 page document with all the risks, benefits and complications of having WLS. Dr. Richi expects the patient to take this paper home, read it carefully and write a paragraph about what you just read and initial it. At the visit prior to surgery, Dr. Richi sits with the patient and has them read the statements back to him to make sure the patient understands EVERYTHING. I was very impressed by this. I have nothing but good things to say about this great Doctor. Thank God!!
