My 78 year old mother was in the emergency room on May 9, 2016 after spending twelve hours and x-rays and an MRI they determined she had a mass in her neck/spine. One ER doctor told us it was possibly cancer. They referred us to Lancaster Neuroscience and Spine Assoc. We had an appointment scheduled. Arrived only to find they would not see us because we needed to arrive twenty minutes prior to the actual appointment time. No one told us that. So, as we were leaving the building, I called their number and received various automated messages. I was on hold for fifteen minutes, still in their parking lot, so I walked back in with the phone to my ear and there were three staff members just talking, not helping anyone. I told them I was on hold to schedule an appointment they indicated appointments are scheduled through someone in the back office. We were able to reschedule with Dr. Monacci for an appointment seventeen days later. We were told by one of the staff members that he is good, no nonsense, right to the point. When we finally met with him he indicated he would like to have another test completed with dye injection to get a better look at what is going on. In the meantime, my mom ask if she could have something for the pain until the test is completed. He was very hesitant and did not want to prescribe anything and suggested she contact her family doctor. After continued questions, he finally agreed to provide a small script. We were told by a staff member that they would contact the insurance to get all of the approvals and call us with the date/time of the test. More than a week later, we had to keep calling his office regarding when the test would be scheduled. Finally, the test was completed on June 17. Not surprised that we did not hear from Dr. Monacci, so we contacted his office a week after the test to find out the results. We were told they could not share the result information with us over the phone and that we would need to meet with Dr. Monacci to review the results. So, we schedule another appointment with him for July 5. During the waiting time, worrying that something is terrible wrong because if it wasn't they would surely be able to give us some news. Arriving within the time frame on July 5 we are shown to the exam room only to find that we are not meeting with Dr. Monacci, but instead the physician assistant Matthew Miller. He proceeds to pull the image on the screen to show us and tell us that the highlighted area (three sections) in my mom's neck is arthritis. REALLY, they couldn't tell us this on the phone. Then Mr. Miller proceeded to inform us that injections is recommended to help ease the pain. He indicated that we will need to make another appointment with a different person in their office who handles the injections to discuss the process and then schedule another appointment for the procedure. When we began to question the injections and all of the appointments, how soon could my mom get in, he left the room and returned only to tell us that they do not accept her insurance. And referred us to a different doctor in another practice. They had no problem taking her co-pay during her visits. And after reviewing, it seems they do take her insurance. I'm sorry, but they have no clue how to care and treat patients. Patients are just a number and a co-pay to get them in to bill their insurance. Mr. Miller did nothing for my mother, our visit with him was a total waste of our time and her insurance as I'm sure they will be billing. I would never recommend them and will not be taking my mother back. I read some of the other ratings, an if anyone is committing insurance fraud or a scam it would be Lancaster Neuroscience and Spine Associates.

I am in the early stages of recovery I was what I am told was the highest level of back surgery Dr Monache performs in my opinion he is one of the most caring, understanding, friendly but down to earth no nonsense no BS doctors if you are not in trouble don't go to him because he'll figure you out in a second as for his physician's assistant Matt I don't have enough good words for him as well Lancaster neuroscience is top notch I highly recommend I have spent the last three years of my life playing on a sofa I am only 20 days post op so I'm not running circles around myself but I can already feel relief it makes me cry to just even talk about it I'm so grateful I OS him and Matt my life and I just hope as I progress and get better I can return to my nursing career in some form and help others in my position

Dr Monacci is a wonderful human being and a top notch surgeon. Its a shame that people who try to defraud insurance companies with bogus injuries feel it necessary to write defaming comments on here. I would go out and try to find a job instead of posting comments on these websites. Dr Monacci is retired from the Army and can see through a sham in a second. I trust this man wholeheartedly. Please disregard these negative remarks as they are from bitter people who are not patients of Dr. Monacci.
