I agree with all the posts about her. I have only been going to her for 2 weeks now, and have been there 3 times. I have a fourth coming up. Each time is a $50 co-pay. I have a debilitating, chronic disease that is very rare, and have had a surgery about 13 months ago that caused a ton of pain. She didn't even read my background the first time I was there and thought I was an alcoholic. I take a significantly large amount of narcotics to treat constant pain. All she wants is your money and will do anything to take you off ALL your meds; so you have no choice but to use all of her "pain reduction" methods. Methods which are not always helpful or permanent (just like the narcotics). I have experience with other Pain Management facilities which all try to get you to use their injections and other pain reducing methods, but this is the first one I've been to where they try to take 50% of your meds away right off the bat without any justification. Also the first clinic I've been to that requires you to come every week . She and the clinic know that they have an EXTREMELY low retention rate so they try to get as much money as possible before you leave because her pain reduction techniques are unrealistic, not gradual, and her and her staff have no compassion at all. If you want to throw a ton of money down the drain, have your pain meds counted and taken away, and have her staff treat you like a liar and a criminal right away, this is the place for you. RUN AS FAR AS YOU CAN FROM THIS PLACE. Other pain clinics in Albuquerque (pretty much all of them) are at least willing to compromise with their patients. Quadra is the worst in town.

Went to Dr Black for several years. She changes her office staff frequently. Drug tests even when it's not warranted because the drugs she gives and her lack of faith in her patients. You're a druggy until proven differently. Her Dr. Asst suggested I get my Medical Marijuana Card and was then fired a few weeks later. During my years of seeing her I was subjected to bizarre situations in her waiting area , offered booze and drugs, asked to sell or buy other patients pills. Each time it was brought to her attention and she passed the situation off to her office staff who did nothing. So even though I saw her for 5 1/2 yrs and went through 6 different Dr. Asst.s I would never suggest her to someone I know.

Worst office staff I have ever come across. Rude, insensitive, ignorant, superiority complex. I have been there for years and have no diagnosis, paid thousands of dollars, have no relief, but, I feel better knowing I have contributed to her job security. Will be finding a doctor that can actually help. Horrific experience.

Dr. Black is the best! But I can't say the same for some of the staff. Receptionists are cold. Nurses are ok. P.A. (Chris) is as stupid as they come. The MR.know-it-all type. Treats you like a drug addict & a child! What a joke he is!!!!!

Treats patients like they are druggies even though you are there to find pain relief for real physical issues. Bathrooms are filthy.
