Ratings for Dr. Alec S. Goldenberg
Dr. Goldenberg is compassionate and professional. He returns calls promptly and is always open forquestions. His staff is exception -- from front desk, to lab technicians to the nurses. The nurses are beyond compassionate and patient. They are the best.
Awful experience. Dr Goldenberg failed to pass on the results of a lab test to another doc who was performing my husband's first cancer procedure, resulting in interminable delays and miscommunication and increasing our stress level during our first experience with cancer treatment. It was horrendous. Absolutely no excuse for this kind of lapse.
Dr. Goldenberg is an extremely caring doctor. One of the best!! If you gave him a bad review you would probably never be happy with a doctor. No one likes to have cancer. I have moved from NYC and have not been able to find a doctor like him here in Florida. Kind - compassionate - and has a sense of humor!!
STAY AWAY -- DOCTER HAS NO COMPASSION FOR THE PATIENT. HE WILL DO WHAT HE HAS TO TO CONTINUE TREATMENT TO MAKE MONEY WHILE THE PATIENT IS SUFFERING. WHEN IT COMES TO QUALITY VS. QUANITITY DR. GOLDBERG IS ALL ABOUT THE QUANITITY AND DON'T CARE ABOUT THE PATIENT'S REQUESTES. WILL GIVE HIGH HOPES TO KEEP IT GOING, NEVER DISCUSSES PROGNOSIS. HIS OFFICE VISITS ARE A WASTE, NEVER EXAMINES THE PATIENT. ROUNDS DONE EARLY IN THE MORNING, SURE NO FAMILY MEMBERS TO CORNER HIM WITH QUESTIONS, WHEN A PATIENT IS TERMINALLY ILL, DR. GOLDENBERG COULD NOT CARE LESS THE PAIN AND SUFFERING THEY HAVE TO ENDURE, WHILE HE KEEPS TAKING TEST, GIVING CHEMO AND KEEPS THEM HOSPITALIZED, GIVE BLOOD TRANSFUSION TO MAKE BLOOD LOOK GOOD, AND PLEASE IF HE EVER TELLS YOU TUMOR MARKERS ARE GOING DOWN, YOU NEED TO ASK, WHAT DOES THE PICTURE SHOW??? THE CONCERN FOR PATIENT IS NOT HIS CONCERN. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM HIM, AND IF YOU ARE CURRENTLY UNDER HIS CARE, BE SURE TO CORNER HIM WITH DETAILED QUESTIONS. RUN FROM HIM
While my mother-in-law was in the Hospital he tried to move forward with treatment without consultation with the family (which was requested by the patient). We tried to reach him for 4 days before chemo was scheduled to begin. We had to get the patient advocate involved to get him on the phone. When we did speak he claimed that he had thoroughly gone through everything with his patient during his rounds. Well his rounds were from 5 - 6 am when she was still on morphine for pain. She also requested a full diagnosis and prognosis which he never gave. Once we left the hospital for a rehab center he insisted that she come to his office, not the hospital, for chemo even though she was already going to hospital for radiation. The extra travel was both a physical and financial burden on her. Everyone I have consulted agrees that there was only one reason for this, more money. He is not capable of dealing with the levels of compassion and honesty necessary for real care giving.
I have been a patient for 15 years with chronic lymphocytic leukemia, had chemo, been hospitalized 3 times with fever & find him caring & concerned. He would come to the hospital every morning at 6 AM to check on his patients & then to the office where he worked until 5 or 6 PM. Always available weekends or whatever in an emergency. I feel great. He also treated my mother who lived to 92 years old with lymphoma. Th doctor is also an inventor& has developed an instrument for bone marrow tests that is sold world wide & is much less painful that other instruments.
Everyone in this office is kind and polite. There is never a long wait. Dr Goldenberg was recommended to me by another physician and I can see why. He takes a genuine interest in his patients, has a pleasant demeanor and is very knowledgeable in his field.
