AFTER 39 YRS IN HEALTH CARE AND MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE WITH DR. FIORILLO HE IS A GREAT, CARING PHYSICIAN. I WOULD RATE A TEN IF POSSIBLE. I HAD A VERY SUDDEN CHANGE IN CANCER STATUS HE CALLED ME AND ANSWERED MANY QUESTIONS. DR AND STAFF INTERACT WITH ME APPROX. EVERY TWO WEEKS..NO PROBLEMS. THANKS A PLUS BY ME
This poor review is more a description on the practice as a whole however, it impacts delivery of care in an acute situation. Bascally, they did not respond to an after hours request for care. Several years ago, my wife experienced very severe abdominal pain. We telephoned the after hours number to get medical advice. Doctor did not respond to any of the five calls (they use answering service). On the sixth call, we asked the operator, why no response, this is a rather serious condition. The operator replied that the doctor did not recognize my wife's name as a patient. She was a patient under another physician's care in the same practice. Naturally, he would not recognize the name as they had never met. Obviously, this is unacceptable. We switched physicians the next week. My wife has an Asian name so maybe that is the problem. I suggest you not have a sever illness that strikes in the evening or if you do, you may wish to not use an Asian name.
He is simply the best internal medicine doctor I have ever had. He doesn't treat his patients like idiots; he explains things at whatever advanced level the patient can understand. He is personable, highly intelligent, very up-to-date in knowledge of medicine, and very respectful of patients.
Excellent doctor - my experience contradicts the other patient's statements. I have gone to this practice for years, and have been very happy with every doctor. With Dr. Fiorillo, difficult symptoms are thoughly addressed. Weekend issues have had call returned immediately. The only downside has been longer than expected waits in the office, but the office staff has generally let me know when this is going on. This is a minor complaint compared to the positive quality of care.
This is a review concerning the responsiveness of the practice after hours. Fact: Winter of 2005, called late evening/early morning because wife had *severe* abdominal pain. Fact: called answering service 5-6 times without doctor returning call. Fact: Last call, answering service indicated doctor did not recognize patient name. Fact: patient regularly sees another doctor in the practice. Fact: Patient did not have a European name. You draw your own conclusions.
