Ratings for Dr. Neeraj Bharany
I agree with the other reviewers that Dr. Bharany is a physician who has a wonderful bedside manner and truly cares for his patients. That is great for a family practice physician but a patient needs more when dealing with a potentially life-threatening illness. When dealing with cancer, a patient needs a doctor with the latest in medical expertise.. My experience with Dr. B is that he discouraged us from seeking a second opinion. To me this signifies insecurity. When specifically asked about his educational background, he refused to answer, saying it wasn't important. Excuse me??? In my opinion, a doctor's education is more important than his bedside manner. What good is a nice bedside manner if the doctor is not aware of the latest advances in the treatment of cancer? He told us he used "tried and true" treatment rather than "new-fangled" treatments. The best place to seek treatment is a teaching hospital where clinical trials and cutting-edge treatments are available, some of which are not yet accessible to physicians in the community. If you want your hand held, a local physician is great. If you want the best chance of successful treatment, you need to go to a major medical center such as UAMS, M.D Anderson, Southwest Medical Center in Dallas or others. You CAN have compassionate treatment with the latest medical advances.
Very up to date on current medications and medical practices. Very concerned and caring physician. Listens to the patient, works around other problems well, gentle but caring manner. I can highly recommend this physician. And his staff is also tops, very helpful and willing to work around your schedule if necessary.
