Ratings for Dr. Lawrence Tanious
It all began wit the depression I experienced after my husband passed away. I had always had bad experiences with most doctors. I decided at that moment not to consult any doctor for my health. One Chistmas my children told me that the best gift from me to them , would be a medical check up. I went to a walking clinic where I met Dr Lawrence Tanious. I was a bit nervous, as English is my second language and I worried that I would 't be able to fully understand what Dr Tanious was trying to communicate to me. I talked, he listened carefully and told me how to manage my stress He later sent for further test. Dr Tanious is kind, compassionate and knowledgeable with a wealth of experience God bless Dr Tanious , 🙏🏾. Thanks to him I can go on with my life and be healthy and happy again.
I love Dr. Tanious, and have no issues with him. However there needs to be improvement with admin staff and some of the nurses. They are very abrupt and rude. Make it impossible to book appointments. I called to update my child's chart with vaccines he had been given and the nurse did not want to take the information. Told me that they did not need to know that he had his Hep B and Menactra vaccine and it only mattered to public health. Told me next time I'm in the office to let them know - (which we very rarely go to see the doctor). How hard is it to just take down the information and log it in the computer system. Very disappointing that you are made to feel like you don't matter! I get that this is a business, but it's also a DOCTORS office and there needs to be compassion and kindness at all times. Any good or excellent ratings is strictly for the doctor. The admin staff are terrible and need to take a course on how to speak to people politely and professionally.
My whole family has been his patients for 30 yrs.Recently,Dr.T has been treating me for PPD and has been highly attentive to my needs. When I was concerned that my pregnancy in the early stages may not be viable he supported us.Post-partum,my child had an apneic episode and aspirated.Leading up to this, Dr.T and his staff gave the baby all of their care and attention. We brought baby in regularly to be monitored for lack of weight gain due to Jaundice and serious GERD.More recently,my anxiety peaked and it can no longer be left untreated. With Dr.T's utmost guidance,he has taken his time for my questions(on more than one visit as I wait my specialist appt. in January). He explains the science behind the issue(s) and translates it and explains it until I am well-informed.He is not overly reactive which is ideal for me as I tend to be a bit hyper when it comes to any illness of late. His follow through and personal calls to my home are above and beyond the scope of practice of most doctors.
I have known Dr. Tanious for 19 years now. He was a great doctor until I hit puberty. After that I got diagnosed with one psych and one neurological disorder. The two disorders interact, but my specialists will NOT and Dr. T does nothing to try and help this situation. He doesn't make much of what my specialists say, and does not do proper ongoing primary care with respect to someone on as many medications as I have to take for the two combined conditions. (no bloodwork, no other check-ups or recommended monitoring) For a regular medical complaint, he is quick to blame it on the psych stuff first, and when I see a specialist who ALSO blames a physical complaint on psych stuff, he does not advocate for me. He messes up my prescriptions a lot and is not responsive to my pharmacists' calls for clarification.
I have been a patient of Dr Tanious for 30 years, since I was 4 years old. He was a good doctor until I hit puberty and then no matter what the problem, he treated me like I was still a child and never resolved any issue I had, passing everything off as a "laughable". He is almost impossible to see, and is unaccomodating when HE has to cancel the appointment. I have had to resolve my problems through Walk-In clinics and specialists I have requested, and when I do make the request, it is like pulling teeth for him to get it done. Now remember I have been a patient for 30 years and have never been charged with any fees. I recently requested a prescription for a TENS unit for my chronic pain, which he is aware of and has never helped with. He has decided to charge me $20 for the note, fair enough, but he has refused to write the note until he has my money in his hand! 30 YEARS DOWN THE DRAIN! Anyone know of a GOOD doctor, I am done with being belittled by someone I look to for care.
I became a patient when my Dr retired and Dr tanious has been the best. He diagnosed me with diabetes after my old Dr diagnosed me with PPD. Whenever I go with my Daughters he always makes sure I'm doing good too. COuldn't ask for a better dr.
I have been a patient of Dr. T for almost twenty years. He cared for my dying grandmother and brought my daughter into the world. He truly cares about his patients and will always take his time with you to listen and do his best to get the best results. He is one in a million!!
