Ratings for Dr. John N. Winnie
Dr Winnie has talked down to me more than once. I find him very argumentative and non communicative when asking for advice. His demeanor is cold, unemotional and appears to not care about you as a patient. One gets the feeling, 'you are there for him, and not the other way around. The tone of his communication is somewhat abusive and psychological.
Was in desperate need of a primary care physician due to severe blood pressure problems and was told that since my previous doctor had prescribed me a pain medication for arthritis he could not see me. Lady was rude and insinuated that I was only looking for a doctor for pain medications. pain medication was tramadol and I take one a bedtime. So I told her fine. that wasn't the reason I was calling looking for a new doctor. My blood pressure is running over 100 on the bottom number and I needed a primary care doctor to help me. she said they couldn't see me for at least a month. Never had a doctor treat me like a criminal before.
make an apointment and you show up ten minutes early so your on time. They have you wait 30 min thats in lobby. Then they have you wait two hours in the room. Then the Dr comes in still chewing chips and your in pain mind you! The Dr takes a quick look and gives you meds you don't need and tells you that you have somthing you don't have. I questioned him and was dismissed. I was cattle!
I was pregnant and actively in the care of one of the best OB doctors when I went to Dr. Winnie for a checkup for myself (unrelated to my pregnancy). Mind you this was my first time seeing Dr. Winnie... while standing in the middle of the office area, Dr. Winnie saw a particular medication listed for me that I had been taking under the care of my OB and midwife. You know, those people that SPECIALIZE in unborn children!!! Dr. Winnie proceeded to belittle me in front of all of his staff and patients and said loudly that I was a "poor excuse for a mother" and that "I should have my child taken away from me" for taking the specific medication. I was 18 at the time and managed to stifle my hormones and told him very calmly and bluntly that I trusted the opinion of my OB and midwife considering their job dealt with treating pregnant women and that his blatantly rude behavior was disgusting. What medication was it? It was just an allergy medication APPROVED for pregnant women. Go figure!
