Dearest Dr Tarshis, It is with deep sadness that you are no longer practising your gift. We all knew the day would come where you would pursue more relaxing and more fulfilling time in your life with most importantly, family and friends. My apologies for only now having learned of your retirement. I know I wasn't a very frequent patient, but hope that you know you made a difference in the few times I visited your clinic. I would like to thank you for everything you have done and it is with great regret but fully understand your wonderful letter of farewell. I wish you a lengthy, prosperous, healthy life and many good wishes for whatever endeavours you choose to pursue. Many thanks, Nanda Belas.
I recently tried to book an appointment , and was surprised to find Dr. Tarshis had retired. Being somewhat of a frequent flyer over the last 20 years for procedures big and small, I have always been thrilled with the results, and his unhurried caring way, which always put me completely at ease. I certainly look like a way better version of myself, and isn’t that the goal right there? Thank you Dr. Tarshis for your kindness, and welcoming manner, your artistry, and absolute mastery of your craft. And thank you as well for your recommendation of one of your colleagues, even though you are irreplaceable! All the best in your new life‘s adventures! Fondly, Carrie Chesnutt
Dear Dr. Tarshis. Hi. This is Lise K. You operated on me 9 years ago in May 2010. I was looking you up the other day and see that you have now retired. I am 71 now and look fantastic for my age-at least that is what everyone tells me! Best decision I ever made was going to you for a facelift. You changed my life and I am eternally grateful for your skill and artistry. Hope you are enjoying your retirement and living life to the fullest! Kind regards, Lise.
Dear Dr. Tarshis. Best wishes for your new adventure, you will be sorely missed. Our relationship goes back to the earliest days in your practice before you built the Institute of Cosmetic Surgery on Alvin Avenue. At that time, you were still at the Wellesley Hospital. Over the years you have done many miracles for me which continue to keep me looking younger and I expect for a long time yet. You are the only only I have trusted. Now enjoy your freedom to do whatever you like...do some outrageous fun things and new experiences and never look back. Best regards and thank you. Maryanne Schmidt-Hansen
Dear Dr. Tarshis. What a beautiful, elegant farewell you wrote on your website. You will be missed in Cosmetic Surgery. You gave me a wonderful facelift with absolutely no visible scarring over 10-15 years ago. My name is Gayle. I was the Creative Director of the National Post newspaper and we often discussed newspapers. (I also chose to leave my nearly 30 years in the newspaper industry to pursue other creative interests. I am now freelancing design and designing all sorts of media. The newspaper industry was a sinking ship and I needed to get out before I sunk with it, smiles). I hope you are doing well and I wish you a healthy, happy retirement and thank you for your gift to me. Gayle
Hi Dr. Tarshis. I am the Toronto Symphony violinist you have done some beautiful work on. Although I am happy for you to start a new chapter, I was sad to see you have closed the practice as I was hoping to have some more work done. Years ago, I had a brow lift and a few years after that, a full lower face and neck lift plus eyes. The results have been amazing and long lasting but alas, I am 66 now and feel it is time to address some issues that are bothering me, sagging skin etc. Probably looking at another lower lift but not sure. Would you possibly have advice on who I might go to? I trust you so much. I just don't want to pick a name randomly. Thanks so much. All the best to you! LK
