Ratings for Dr. Richard Boorman
Dr. Boorman did a massive rotator cuff repair on my husband after several other specialists said 6 months of physio (physio cant repair anything torn). Got in quite quickly to see him and schedule surgery 3 weeks later. We found him to be EXCEPTIONAL as a person and as a doctor. He is not full of himself and explains things so that we could understand. His bedside manner is impeccable and follow up is very good. His physio staff also explain things to you, and don't treat you like you should know what they are talking about. The whole process has been a blessing. Have recommended him to another person who is suffering and waiting for a surgeon. Will recommend him to anyone who needs this type of work done. We have been told by other medical people in some of our other medical appointments that he is the best that there is in Calgary and if you get him you are very lucky. We are thankful.
Dr Boorman reattached my pectoral major following an sports related injury. Got me in quickly with the holidays considered and did a great job explaining everything and the recovery process. follow up is booked and a recovery plan was went over. Could not be happier with the experience
Rich did my hemiarthroplasty 5 years ago and was very good. He’s got great knowledge as well as surgical skill and excellent bedside manner. He tells you exactly what to expect and what is going to happen and follows up with you for a long time after the surgery.
I compete in high level sports and over the past 5 years I have had 6 very successful surgery's from Dr Boorman. I am back to lifting and competitions. I highly recommend Dr Boorman as he has a vast amount of knowledge and experience. Dean Livingston
Dr Boorman is awesome. Technicians who did my MRI scan, ultrasound and x-rays, all described my shoulder as really gnarly. Large calcium deposit, major bursitis, and a torn labrum from a ski accident late fall. Arthroscopic pictures confirmed a very gnarly shoulder. I was worried about the recovery, but after 2 days, I was virtually pain free. It's been two weeks now and I'm feeling great. Just following the prescribed recovery plan. Excited to use my new bionic shoulder soon!
I can believe how dr Boorman was reall I've be to many dr in Calgary but with dr Boorman I don't know how to explain. For the fast time I felt I was a person. He nice understanding I'm so looking forward for my next visit. He's an Awesome dr I went for mri scan. I'm worried what the is going to tell about my shoulder. I know I'm in good hand his s greatest dr I ever meet ..
Both Dr. Boorman and his right hand lady, Peg, are wonderful. Although Dr. Boorman was unable to help me with my shoulder completely which had undergone total replacement years before, he was able to alleviate the majority of the pain. He is knowledgeable, extremely helpful and definitely not arrogant. He really cares about his patients. His assistant, Peg, is fantastic. She too, is patient and understanding. I would strongly recommend him to others. Having Dr. Boorman as your surgeon is worth the wait.
Superb surgeon. I did some real thorough internet-based research for the best shoulder surgeon in Canada but it's hard to trust the internet. My right shoulder had been operated on 4 times before seeing Dr. Boorman. Twice in the GTA area in the mid nineties, then in Helsinki in '02, and the fourth one was in the Lesser Antilles in '08. The original diagnosis was a simple separated shoulder. After two Weaver-Dunn procedures, a sternoclavicular operation, and a glenohumeral SLAP tear scope, nothing was working. I couldn't do cartwheels or handstands, which are my favorites. A colleague recommended I get on the waiting list to see Dr. Boorman. The wait was worth it. Dr. Boorman said the diagnosis was so cinchy. All I needed was a hemiarthroplasty. My shoulder feels like someone injected WD40 right into it. Amazing results thanks to Dr. Boorman.
Extremely good doctor. I have been a patient for 7 years, 2 shoulder replacements and a revision surgery. Easy going doctor, come prepared he is an in demand doctor so don't waste time. His assistant Peg is a dream compared to his previous assistant. Very good doctor.
Dr. Boorman did my shoulder replacement back in 2008 when I was 65 & I can't be more pleased with how successful it was. .... I'm able to do everything now that I could before the surgery... had extreme pain before they were able to do the surgery ..... so thankful for Dr. Boorman & his staff.... :-)
