Ratings for Dr. Maria Yu
Dr Maria has been my Dr since 2007. She has seen me through breast cancer, total hysterectomy and more. I feel that I won the lottery with her. She is very caring, knowledgeable and if she is stomped, goes above and beyond to make sure that you get the answers and care you need. The front staff has truly upped their service. They are now courteous and helpful. The new Ajax Medical Clinic is shaping up to be a complete package with the addition of a dietician and a counselor. They also work in concert with Bowens Pharmacy which is in the same location in Ajax- 88 Harwood Ave South.
I have been with this doctor for almost 20 years. Maria is great, her practice is awful. The staff treat me like they don't know me and would never go out of their way to be helpful. It is almost impossible to get an appointment and you need an appointment for everything....no phone prescription renewals (even the most minor, everyday repeats), no test results or referrals or requisitions or questions answered...... you have to make an appointment for everything and appointments are few and far between. Come to the walk-in is the usual answer (I say, then why bother having a family doctor?) Perhaps this is the way of the future.... very sad
Amazing doctor. She takes the time to listen to you and doesn't rush through your appointment. She doesn't brush anything off or use medication as a quick fix, she takes the time to look into things or offer solutions instead of finding an easy way out. She is very nice and caring ALWAYS. Her reception staff never seem to be in a good mood, they are short and miserable. Best doctor though!
Dr. Maria Yu is amazing especially with my children. She is usually on time and never rushes us through our appts. She is very knowledgeable and has great suggestions for things without always offering medication as a first solution. We adore her!
The administration staff at this location are consistently rude and unpleasant to interact with. Consider yourself lucky if you get in on time. Plan an hour or more after your appointment because that's usually the amount of time you will wait. Good luck getting an appointment in the summer as this doctor takes what seems like every/all summer off. Every appointment is rushed and once was actually met with "ew" when describing my symptoms.
