Ratings for Dr. Jason Gatzke
My daughter was a year and a half old and had a 104 degree fever. We took her to the hospital at 11 pm and Dr. Gatzke told us she is just teething and has a cold. He said to give her advil and put her to bed. We went home for a couple of hours and the crying and fever did not dissipate. We returned to the hospital as we knew this was not normal for her. When we returned he got mad at us for wasting his time and told us to go home and stay home. So we did. At 6 am nothing had changed with her 104 degree fever so we again returned to the hospital and caught him as he was going home. Again he was mad at us for coming back. After we told him that we know our daughter and this is not normal sickness he reluctantly admitted her to the hospital. Turned out we were right she had pneumonia and had to be in the hospital for 4 days. I am one very unsatisfied parent. I would recommend getting a second opinion if you see this doctor.
After suffering a stroke, and dealing with irreparable damage, significant emotional trauma and physical problems, IMO Dr Gatzke went out of his way to see that my insurance got cancelled. This has caused significant monetary lifelong problems.
Very caring and knowledgable doctor. After sending our baby to ER for an xray, Dr Gatzke came there to follow up. Then, phoned our home the next day to check on our baby after seeing him with a chest infection. Swift Current is lucky to have him practice here.
My 11 year old daughter had severe stomach cramps we went to emergency and he asked her if she smoked. And when was her last intercoarse. I was so appauled by those questions I spoke up and said she is only 11. He gave me the dirtyest look and said that she just has the flu. But then 4 years later I sliced my finger off so I went to emergency and he happened to be working and he was so good. So I guess it all depends on the day
When I broke my foot I sat in the ER for 4 hours waiting for an xray.. When I finally got one he took 5 minutes to quickly look over it and tell me what I was fine. After walking on it for 5 days MY family doctor PHONED ME to inform me that my foot was broken and needed to be casted... and to thanks to his lack of bedside manner I had to have TWO months of physio!!!
I have seen this doctor a few times in the clinic and the ER. He has taken the time necessary to ensure a proper diagnosis. He is direct in his approach which I appreciate. I am pleased with the care and follow up that I have received so far.
