My Doctor sent a letter asking Dr. Appleby office for an office appointment in June 2016. My problems are potentially life altering but are currently none urgent. I waited 6 months for a response and finally phoned Dr. Appleby's office. I was informed that Dr. Appleby has been sick and off work since August. I am disgusted with Dr. Appleby's office for not communicating that he was sick and may not be available until January 2017 and only for urgent emergency surgeries such as cancer or other immediate operations. This lack of communication between health care providers and their patients is simply not acceptable and border line abusive. I should have been looking for assistance in some other Doctors office.

The most heartless dr I've ever encountered and to this day his mark on me still affects my life. When I was 7 I had appendicitis when I arrived to the pg hospital they literally left me for the very last surgery of the day it is disgusting on how they (staff of pg hospital and Dr appleby ) didn't see a sick child as an emergency my appendix could not wait any longer and it had burst almost dying that's when they decided to finally give me my surgery. He literally slaughtered me and left me with the most brutal hidieous scar on my abdomen he didn't give a flying sh*t about my life it was pretty clear on the mark he left on me. I am now 22 yrs old and still dealing with the this problem I am currently seeking a plastic surgeon to do a scar revision from the work he did on me 15 yrs ago I suffer alot from this not only as a child but as an adult it has not left me something as simple as a appendectomy usually leave very little scaring he left half my entire right side cut up. Stay away his work as a surgeon is rubbish

He is a great surgeon. I seen him in hospital as well as in his office. I ended up having to have an emergency appendectomy and he helped to set me at ease as I was anxious about having the surgery. He answered all my questions and made me feel alot better once I knew what was going to be happening. I had follow up at his office about a 2 weeks after surgery and again he was very knowledgeable and helpful in the questions and concerns I had at the time. His receptionist however needs to be a little less harsh and more understanding of the patients that come into the office or even just call into book a follow up appointment. She is the first impression to the office and it leaves you with a very unsettling feeling, however Dr Appleby makes up for what she lacks.

My brother got ctically ill in Prince George, I know he would not have survived had he been in the care of nay other team of Doctors. The many surgeries done by Dr Appleby were nothing less than a miracle. He, Dr Bashir, the nurses and floor staff were unbelievable, during our long stay.. There are really no words, The Doctor he went to for follow up in Vancouver said he would not have survived had he ended up in any other hospital, that the Prince George hospital which has the best of Dr.'s and nurses . Thanks... You are truly the best

I felt he didn't seem to know what he was telling me as he didn't seem to know himself? If my tumor is cancerous I'll be not very happy as I was put on a death sentence waiting almost 2 years for what? For my life to end how terrible, knowing I have the tumor inside and because he is the great surgeon, he left it at that that he would wait a year I've had this going on since may 2011 we are at Aug 2012 in may 2013 if I live that long it will be 2 years. He should get his facts straight Now i have pain all over my stomach. You should go back and try to reach out to your patients and explain to them that you don't know how to properly explain yourself. I really don't even want you to touch me now you must slip the knight or the tumor could be cancerous and that could kill me either way I'm out of luck and eh you got away with it. And you are supposed to save lives well you have taken mine away from me. I can't believe you. Maybe you should retire before you will someone else.

I'm still in pain, he wants to wait for another year for my surgery. I was told by him that he thinks I have a tumor about the size of a quarter a little smaller. Why doesn't he want me to get my life back the way I was a year ago? I don't even think he did a biopsy of the tumor. Hopefully it's benign, I wish he would take it out, he is an awesome surgeon, so Dr. Appleby if you are reading this can you please help me, and take my tumor/lesion out. Sincerely Bonnie

Might be a good surgeon but did not give me any information pre (emergency) surgery, and very little to none after. I wonder how he really feels about people how are overweight as he didn't explain what could happen post surgery and then when there was a problem said 'I was waiting for that to happen' but hadn't bothered to tell me - which was traumatic. Would prefer a different surgeon that was willing to talk with me like he seems to do with others who have written on this page.
