Ratings for Dr. Edward Phillips
It's a bittersweet day for me. My favorite doctor for the past 26 years gas retired! I will miss him, Laurel and Debbie very much as professionals and as friends. Some comments that were made here baffle me as I find them to be extremely helpful, caring and understanding. My wait times are rarely ever more than 15 minutes, his diagnosis is always accurate and he has a genuine concern for my well-being. I really feel that I am stronger because of him and although I am happy for them and wish Ed and Laurel much happiness in their well-deserved retirement, I am sad for the loss of a trusted friend.Pam
I have been going to see him for ever. You know there is a shortage of Doctors and the complants about not getting a call back after leaving a voice mail message is crap. Don't leave a voice mail message and then sit there and wait. If you gave a crap about your loved ones you would keep calling back until you get a person and not voice mail. Imagine if they spent all day checking voice mail, no one would ever get through. Your complants are as slack as the person complaining. John P Brown
My mother is a patient of Dr. Philips and I have found her contact with him very frustrating at times. I also agree with others that Debbie is very difficult to deal with and the fact that she doesn't answer phone calls has put my mother in danger at times. In recent months her blood was very thin. She tried to contact the doctor about her reading and whether or not to vary the Warfarin and to my knowledge has not had a call back yet. My mother started to play with the medication herself. Similarly she had a bout of very low and very high sugar readings [has significant diabetis] and called to ask what to do....again...never got a call back on that and she adjusted the insulin herself...dangerous in my mind.... if there were another doctor to go to, we would do so in a moment. With attitude Mum [who is a sweetheart] has said of late he makes me feel like he doesn't want me as a patient anymore and she won't say anything because she is elderly . Frustrating
I used to be a patient of Dr. Phillips until he said I was mo longer his patient and he destroyed my files just because I hadn't had to see him in 5 years. I complained to the College of Physicians and Surgeons about him and now I have a new doctor whom I am much happier with.
well as some people has already said Dr. Phillips can be a good doctor, but his nurse Debbie has a problem with returning calls ...The last message i sent, saying my son was sick and needed to see him...and now it's 5 days later and no response to my message. As I had to take him to a local clinic.I am not comfortable about going to my appts sometimes, but depending on my medical problem at the time.I have diabertis and Dr. Phillips has been good with that,in fact he pushes to have bloods done regular. But we are not all perfect are ?
I have been a patient of Dr Phillips for about 13 yrs. The best way I can describe him is moody. Some days he is very talkative and friendly and other days he can't wait to get you out of the office. I find he takes offense when I ask questions or refer to information I've read about (as he thinks the interent is the worst thing ever for medical information). He has mis-diagnosed things in the past with myself, my sister and my father. I know he is only human and does the best that he can, but at times I find he's quick to say it's probably this so try this presciption. I don't think I've ever called the office and the phone actually been answered. I don't think I've ever had a phone call returned by Debbie and think she should be looking for a job that she likes, as she makes it very obvious that we're all an inconvenience to her and that she can't multitask. I have to admit that she is great with my son, but a bit scatter brained!
I have found that the doctor listens to my concerns and makes notes before diagnosing. Then gfives different options and what he feels maybe the best solution. I also find him very knowledgeable and not afraid to ask other doctors opions, at least iwith my dealings
