Ratings for Dr. Peter Lau
With Dr. Lau for about 10 years, I so much appreciate his services, assistance and help. Thanks to Dr. Lau for all good advice. Anytime when I had special need, he always could direct me to the right specialists in time. After I moved out from city of Toronto, I was still with him, even took Go train to see him. Because English is my second language, Dr. Lau was always patient to listen to me and explain clearly about illness and treatment. Dr. Lau earned my trust and respect. In addition, thanks a lot to receptionists and nurses in the clinic.
With declared earnings at half a million a year he hits his largely immigrant patients up for extra fees. Issues no receipts for sane and requires cash. The fact that the college allows this behaviour reflects poorly on the entire profession.
Not a very caring doctor and the staff is equally bad. They are rude to patients. As a physician, Dr. Lau does a poor job in explaining to patient for their health status. He gets impatient when you ask too many questions. One time he poked me at least 3 times before he was able to draw my blood out. And he has always been late for my 10 am appointments in the last few years. He would show up 15, 20 mins later. Very inconsiderate of patients' time. He is also unwilling to provide a report for my blood work. He gave me a sticky note. How unprofessional!
Doesn't explain anything to the client. Keeps to himself too much, doesn't actually check the client for any illness than claims he did his job. charges for doctors notes. doesn't prescribe anything. can never go back to him. complete douche towards his client. waiting for his license to be revolt already.
No thorough, not transparent in the 'why' he arrived at a conclusion -- i.e., presetation of symptoms leads him to make a conclusion -- will not share that analysis with the client. Seems to pass-off things quickly -- does not spend the time with a patient to query the problem, explain the analysis, plan/determine follow-up.
