Told me "it's too bad she doesn't have a fungus, because what she has is a chronic life long disease" (psorisus) and told me about the creams she was perscribing, and too see him in a month. I do happen to know this is a autoimmune disease, there was no mention of that, there was no room for me to ask questions. I wanted to ask how to prevent flares, can I stop it from spreading? TELL ME SOMETHING!! He could not get out of the room fast enough. Which I find very annoying, because WE WERE THE ONLY ONES THERE! know I know why. I work at a large pediatric hospital in the cities, and asked a doctor I work with if (the doctor) knew if any derms other than Bloom. (the dr.) gave me a name, and said "you don't like Bloom?" with a knowing smile... the doc said they have never referred any pt to him(in 10 years), despite the fact that until recently, he was the only one around. I wish I knew that before.

Dr. Bloom was thorough in his evaluation and treatment and the outcome has been wonderful. Let me preface myself by saying that I have worked in Healthcare for over 20 years. I work closely with physicians and surgeons. I am also a mother of three children ; therefore, I feel qualified to make the following statements.I rate my care from a physican based on the following critieria and in this order: 1. Accurate Diagnosis 2. Proper Care 3. Good Outcomes 4. Cost Effectiveness and 5. Bedside manner.I would rate Dr. Bloom as excellent with regards to all these criteria. Dr. Bloom has always been polite, professional and courteous to my son and myself. He has always taken the time necessary to answer any questions I may have. I would describe him as someone who is succinct and to the point. He is not a “touchy, feely” sort of doctor and I don’t think he should be penalized for that. Do not hesitate to bring your children to Dr. Bloom.

Horrible experience, horrible doctor. He spent less than 5 minutes with us. He started out glancing at my son's skin (without so much as a hello to my scared little boy), stating what it was, and then having his' nurse bring in papers that were printed from the internet. They had us sit in this little room for 45 minutes so we could "read through the material." He came back in, gave us very brief information, including saying that he "doesn't think we need an epipen" (no more explanation than that), which was concerning as everything I'd read said that an epipen is important to have with this condition. He asked if there were questions but in a tone that suggested he really wasn't open to listening to them. I asked one question, he gave a curt response. My husband started to ask another and he WALKED OUT OF THE ROOM IN THE MIDDLE OF MY HUSBAND's QUESTION. I later requested a copy of our record and was disgusted to find it stated they'd "answered many questions."

I cannot believe I “subjected” my child to this “pediatric health care professional.” His complete lack of compassion and rude demeanor had my 7 year old SOBBING by the end of the 5 MINUTE appointment. (He handed her a Kleenex then looked at the nurse and rolled his eyes). I was dumbfounded. Then he handed me a prescription (without an explanation) and left the room. He told the nurse to direct me into a small room to watch a VHS video about skin disease. On my way to watch the video I passed him at the nurses’ station. And suddenly I realized why he was 45 minutes behind schedule… and why he only had 3 minutes for my child; He was watching TV on his computer. If you are seeking an MD that will make you needlessly wait, act arrogant and disrespectful, and appear aggravated that your child’s “insignificant dermatological issue” is standing between him and an episode of EXTRA (that’s what he was watching) Dr. Bloom is the ideal choice.

Dr. Bloom has been absolutely wonderful. My daughter has a hemangioma and we have been very happy with how he has been treating it and her as well. He is very straight to the point. He as always taken the time to answer my questions and willing to work with us and our regular pediatrician since we live over two hours away from the cities and only travel there just for our appointments with him. I highly recommend him.

My daughter's appointment with Dr. Bloom was not what we expected. He was late, had poor bed side manners, was in the room briefly and talked to us literally as he walked out of the room. To top it off he had no idea what her lump was and wanted to remove it for testing. I am thankful we did not go with his advise because another Dr. correctly diagnosed it and treated it with meds. My daughter would have had to go through an unnecessary removal and been disfigured because of the area it was in. Please consider another dermatologist... there are a bunch out there.

Our daughter was born with a rare skin condtion. Dr. Bloom saw us the day we were discharged from the hospital. He gave us good info and refered us to a plastic surgeon in the twin cities who said her case was not treatable. Dr. Bloom believe it was and refered us to an excellent dr in chicago who will treat her. Dr. Bloom could improve his bed side manner, but is very knowledgeable and we are glad he is treating our daughter.

What a horrible experience! The dr took one look at my 15 month old daughter and told me it was eczema. He didn't ask any questions or review her history. He told his medical assistant what prescriptions to write and then left. I was able to ask two questions as he stood at the door with one foot out. After the dr left, the medical assistant put on a video and I was told "this will answer all of your questions." After I relized that it was an 18 minute video, I left. As I was walking out, the assistant told me that he had my prescriptions. I told him that I did not want them, that I would be seeing someone else. I called the office later that afternoon to request my copayment refunded, and was told by the "office manager" (after she consulted with the dr) that "it would be illegal to refund my co-payment after I had been seen." Then she informed me that she put my prescriptions in the mail to me?! The dr was a JERK. STAY AWAY FROM HIM! YOU DESERVE BETTER HEALTHCARE!!

Waited 1.5 hrs, he spent less than 5 min with my twins, had his nurse put medication on my sons toe, charged my insurance over $600, was rude to me about the way I had tied my sons paper gown over him for a trip down the hall to the restroom, of all ridiculous things. By far, the worst experience I ever had with a Dr. Will not go back. Will tell everyone I know what a creep this guy is.
