Ratings for Dr. George Nye
Was recommended to Dr. Nye roughly 10 years ago. My previous dentist always found something wrong and was consistently doing dental work. I found this extremely odd and since I've been with Dr. Nye, I have gotten work a couple of times for obvious needs. Upfront, honest, pleasant and knowledgeable. I've recommended truckloads of folks to him. His staff are courteous, professional and my daughter and I have enjoyed our relationship. That's not easily said, but it's true.
Have been going to Dr Nye for over 10 years, one of the most honest Dentist around, does not try to up sell you to treatments you don't need. When I lost my health coverage after I retired, Dr. Nye gave my husband and I discount every time we go in for cleaning and treatment. Best dentist I have ever had and will continue to have I hope for a long time. Please don't retire Dr. Nye.
Dr Nye and his staff are incredible. The staff is kind and caring and regardless of the procedure, there is never any pain. I have been his patient for almost 30 years and no matter how far away I move in the Vancouver Metropolitan area, I will always be a patient for Dr George Nye.
Because I am a student with coverage under my university, they took advantage of my insurance when I went for my yearly cleaning appointment. When I called in, they specifically told me how much it would range from, but when I was in the process of cleaning, Dr. Nye came to check my teeth and gave me a slip for a specialist to pull my wisdom teeth out and then he left without any further explanation. Afterwards, when I received the bill at the end,it was definitely out of the price range that they told me over the phone. The reason was, the little visit that Dr. Nye made and the slip he gave was basically another charge on top of the charge that I had for cleaning my teeth. At the time, I didn't understand why I was charged more, so I had my father call in and they basically told my father that it was because I had coverage under my university. Although I've been with this dentist since 2010, after this incident, I told them specifically never to call me back for any further appointments.
I am a person that suffers from extreme anxiety and have a great fear of dentist,my experience with Dr.George Nye was understanding and compassionate . They have a great caring staff and as as as a first nation aboriginal have never felt more safe and comfortable in all my experience's with any other dentist in the lower main land.
Doctor Nye has looked after my dental needs for many, many years (probably more than 30). He and all of his staff have always treated me with kindness and care. I have never in all that time had a single problem. I will remain with him as long as he continues to practice.
I've been going to this dentist office since I was a child. They are really nice people, great at getting you in for semi-urgent appt; but VERY slow at repsonding. There is this one situation I am having right now that is making me extremely frustrated. I am currently trying to get invisiline (ortho) done, therefore my ortho doctor sent some films for them to see if I need some potential cavities fixed. These films were sent approx 3 weeks ago and I still have not gotten any reply. So I've decided to follow up on my own because I need to start on my ortho treatment. Therefore, I called them few days in a row because I always seem to speak to a different receptionist and they play the blame game "I didn't get this message" or "sorry we will follow up on and give you a call back". Note, day 4 they have still not called me back....
Dr. Nye has cared for me since the 1970's. When I found him I was desperate. Another dentist told me I needed $2000 of dental work (my yearly income then!) He solved my problem for less than $100. He found sound, economical solutions to many difficult problems. Later, we had money, but he advised against trendy procedures that would cause expensive problems. When I moved to Montreal, I kept him as my dentist because he was better than any I met there. Dentistry has changed a lot. Emphasis is now on prevention so I see more of technicians for cleaning - and less of Dr. Nye - but I don't think he should be faulted for organizing my care to prevent expensive problems. Among the dozen or more dentists who have treated me, he remains at the top of my list. My English is good so accents don`t bother me. Competence is what I look for. I am fond of his old photos (that he took himself) even though they look worn. I am thankful to have a reliable dentist.
