Unprofessional. Prior to my last appointment with Dr. Thomas, I was always in the office alone with him. His second to last evaluation letter stated that I would have lifelong pain and require treatment throughout my life. When I questioned his inappropriateness with staff members, my last appointment included a nurse in the room and I was released as a patient. So happy I found another, very professional, pain management doctor who treated me with respect. In speaking with others, Dr. Thomas displays this behavior quite frequently with female patients. Reading ratings below, I note that others experienced the same experiences I had and did not mention.
I have a uterine fibroid that causes extreme pain. My ob/gyn used to manage this for me, but shipped me off to pain management when he suddenly didn't want to write scripts for me any longer. Dr. Thomas was very patient and understanding with me, as I am not the typical patient he sees--I have no sports injury, nor accidental injury. He has helped me tremendously to manage my pain, which isn't constant. (Thank God) His staff is wonderful, the nurses and reception staff are very kind and friendly. The PA-C, that works in the practice, Aaron is also wonderful. They all take the time to make sure I'm heard, and offer suggestions for new treatment options should the medication stop working. I reccomend Dr. Thomas and his practice to everyone I know that suffers from pain.
Thank you so much Tri-State Pain Institute for helping me when no one else would.
I really dislike this doctor! He hardly allows you to speak, doesn't even physically examine me when I go there, and is always inappropriate. He will talk to you more about your physical appearance or your relationship status than about your medical condition that you are there for. He seems moody, disorganized, and unprofessional. I am currently looking for a new doctor because I do not wish to see him again. I don't understand the people leaving positive comments about him being a good doctor, I have seen him several times and I'm sorry but I just don't see it. Maybe he is helpful to some, but not me!
I have been going to him for 3 years now. Really knows what he is doing. Very friendly, he doesn't pull any punches, likes to swear. that might turn some people off, but he know his business. Loves to talk politics. Very down to earth doctor. He grew up in a regular hard working family. Love the guy!
Isn't interested in helping manage anything except what is cut and dry or he can use his own equipment to bill with. He is repeatedly asks the same questions over and over and won't take the time to listen to the patient. He is in and out of the exam room so quickly your jaw will drop. I was once told by a staff member he needs to be caught "in a good mood" to communicate with. One of my other physicians call him a "whirling dervish" I call him dr. Crazy. Erie has very few quality pain management specialists and unfortunately Dr. Rai doesn't accept my insurance. If you have a choice RUN RUN RUN as far away as you can.
Very pleasant, efficiency and knowledgable staff. Appt. and procedure on time, no waiting in office for my mother whom is 82 years old and difficulty sitting. Dr. Thomas very efficiency and curtitous
Staff was great, they called to confirm the day before, made sure my insurance was ok, and even gave me directions when I got lost the day of the appointment! Pam is wonderful!! Dr Thomas was a riot, he made me feel comfortable with jokes and he knew instantly what my problem was. Sent me to PT with another great staff across the hall and I am looking forward to my injection next week in office.
