Ratings for Dr. Chuck Lortie
Such a great doctor. Very knowledgeable and takes the extra time to answer any questions. All of the options were presented to me and I felt confident in the decision of treatment. I felt like I was part of the decision making process rather than just being told what to do. Beautiful clinic and really nice nursing staff. I'd recommend anyone I know to see him.
Running 45 minutes late, I asked more indepth questions about the medications he was giving my the options to take. And he dismissed my concerns and sent me home with things to read, and to set another appointment a month and a half later. He seemed to be running late and didn't have the time to answer the questions I had.
I recently saw Dr Lortie for Mohs procedure! Of course anyone that hears they have cancer is scared, just as I was He was amazing and caring and explained everything to me! His nurse was also very supportive and answered any question I might have. The office was beautiful and there was a nice quiet waiting room to read or relax between procedures. The area was right in the middle of my face and even though it is still swollen and the stitches aren't out yet I am very confident that it will heal wonderfully!! I would highly recommend Dr Lortie and his staff for any dermatological or surgical procedure!!
I've seen Dr. Lortie three times over the last few months -- he's been really great. I have seen a total of four dermatologist over the last 15 years, he's been the most thorough in his assessment (asking about history, current and past medications, medical history, etc.). Most importantly, he is the first dermatologist who actually took a close look at my face, with a light. Yes, the first. Ever. While I am not cured of my issues (sometimes there is no cure, just management), I find that Dr. Lortie is truly doing what he can by looking at my specific skin problem in the context of the big picture of my health. He takes the time to explain things, which may explain why he runs behind a bit.
Dr. Lortie is a great dermatologist. He takes time to make sure every patient leaves his office satisfied. Had to wait a few minutes past my appointment time as I could see it was a very busy office, but it was very worth it. His nurse was apologetic about the wait and was very friendly while remaining professional. She made me feel very comfortable and answered all of my questions about what to expect from the appointment. The clinic is beautiful as well. I would definitely recommend Dr. Lortie and his staff.
Unfortunately Dr. Lortie has moved on to a specialized field and is missed. He is very compassionate and will give you the time needed. He was always there for my late wife and was very supportive in the years that followed. He is knowledgeable and easy to talk to. I highly recommend him to his new patients in his new field of practise.
I have been a patient of Dr. Lortie's since 1995, and my whole family has gone to him. I think he is extremely approachable, knowledgeable, and helpful. For punctuality, I have never noticed it being a problem, but then again, I cannot imagine the stresses involved with being a doctor with such a large caseload. I know that in Alberta we are short on Doctors, especially good ones, so I am willing to wait. I am also disappointed to hear about missed diagnoses on patients because Dr. Lortie properly diagnosed my mother (Rest in Peace) with a Brain Tumor after she went to two other doctor's that told her it was migraines due to stress. I realize that no one is perfect and mistakes are made, but I would trust and recommend Dr. Lortie to anyone I love.
