Ratings for Dr. Brian Lasner
The one thing that I appreciate most about him is that he's been through some health issues and personal issues that he has overcome which inevitably transformed his practice and how he treats his patients. I suffer from chronic pain, depression and hormonal imbalances and he has treated all of these things with the use natural trigger point injections at Kensington and with Bioidentical hormones at True Balance. I'm now off the narcotics and the antidepressants that I had been givin by another doctor and feel that I have my life back. I have never met a doctor that was so empathetic yet so encouraging. I recently brought up to him some of the reviews that were on this site. He was so humble about his past and told me that he left family medicine b/c he felt tired of putting bandaids over bandaids and not really getting to the core of people's issues. I never saw him as a family doctor, but I can see why he left b/c of what I had experienced with my doctors - drug on top of drug and more drugs to help the side effects of the other drugs. I was at the end of my rope when I heard about him from a friend a year ago. I thank God that I heard about him and still see him. Renee S.
I have been going to a doctor downtown Edmonton for about 10 years. He sent me to various "specialists" to no avail. I switched Doctors and my new Doctor referred me to Dr. Brian Lasner. At my first visit with him he knew exactly what was wrong with me and I almost got up and kissed him, I was so excited. After 10 years of suffering and being depressed and dealing with the pain I finally found someone who knew what was going on. I had a numbness in my right dominant hand/arm and I couldn't even brush my own teeth, comb my own hair etc. It was very frustrating and I don't believe in pills just natural medicines. Dr. Lasner had a great personality and made me laugh so hard and he was not late on both appointments I had with him. I can't believe the doctor downtown had no idea and neither did his colleagues but Dr. Lasner knew right away. I can't get over that. The problem has gone on to long and I think there may be muscle damage because no one could figure it out. Dr. Lasner has been treating me with natural medications but so far it's not doing much, I only saw him twice so far that's not to say it will not work. I feel very fortunate to have Dr. Lasner as my Dr. for this situation. I feel a relief, I think e1 thought I was faking it now I have a name for it it's called Ulnar Nerve Radiculopathy, I really appreciate you Dr. Lasner. Thank you so much, Cathie
Brian stole six years of my life. After two visits to urgent care and a thorough review of my netfile profile, it was uncovered that I have a hiatal hernia that was discovered during an endoscopy SIX YEARS AGO while I was a patient of Dr. Lasner's, but he did not feel it was necessary to reveal this fact, or discuss managing this condition, or consider surgical options, despite the fact that it has had a VERY SIGNIFICANT impact on my life SINCE BIRTH. Since I was given a clean bill of health, despite my symptoms I continued to try to work part-time on organic farms, and doing construction for almost four more years before I became too weak to work at all. The last 2 1/2 years have been hell. The last 2 months have been unbearable. I tried to follow up about a year after my last app't -he had changed clinics, but assured me that I would continue to be his patient. When I called the Sherwood Park office for an app't, he refused to see me because "He is not accepting new patients".
I met Dr Lasner today. He has probably saved my life. As a staff member at True Balance he is the first Dr to really listen to me and understand my issues. I have been ignored for 20 or so years, with pain and other medical problems for longer. Super nice guy. Listened to me was there for my questions and did not treat me like an idiot. I have not a bad word for this man.
I had always liked Dr. Lasner, I did not however like his puncuality. He was always late, sometimes I would get to my appt. it being the first one at 11 am and when I came in they would say oh he is not coming in today, sorry, thankfully the other doctors at Cappilano Clinic would take me. I know that he had personal issues, the same as mine, he did not help me with mine he actually made them worse by allowing me to continue and even going so far as to over prescribe me certain mediacations. I have dealt with my issues and from what I understand so did he. Hopefully he will be a better doctor
I don't even know wher to begin - Dr. Lasner was ok when he was at the Capilan Clinic - ok, not good and never on time nor can I count the number of number the climic phoned 30 minutes before an appointment to let us know he would not be available - this time taken off work for us. He then moved to the Sherwood Park clinic - still not on time - still missing app'. His schedule went from part -time days to afternoons to every 2nd week - what a joke trying to get an app't. Started at Synergy Clinic as pain specialist???? He
Anyone who gives Dr. Lasner anything more that a 1 for punctuality is blowing smoke. He however used to be very caring and focused etc but he is much less so now. I saw him for many years while he was at the Capilano clinic but have since decided that I must change doctors in order to receive quality focused care. I have to admit that his staff in Sherwood Park is far superior to the poor customer service received in the Capilano office. The staff at the Capilano office, besides having a poor attitude, have no idea how to manage referrals.
Dr. Lasner is a genuine caring individual, who makes me comfortable, does not use medical jargon, ensures me I can trust his recommendations. We need more like him in the medical field, who treat patients like they matter and take the time to explain what is wrong and especially considers alternative, rather than only prescriptions, with their many side effects.
