Ratings for Dr. Franklin Weil
I have had Dr. Weil as a primary GP for over ten years. I am always taken very quickly. The times he is not available, I am assigned another Doctor in his group and they are all very professional. When I am seen by Dr. Weil, which is 95% of the time, Dr. Weil always spends a good deal of time with me, he listens, he explains what is going on and his advice is both informative and practical. He has a folksy bedside manner and I enjoy our appointments.
Dr. Weil is very kind and knowledgeable when he's with you. Unfortunately, though, I've had bad experiences with his office. His nurse gets back fast, but not generally helpfully. Recently, I was surprised recently when I had a bad injury; he didn't bother to make time for me (and his nurse said he didn't have time for 10 days or more) and had me go to another physician in his group. His nurse said that Dr. Weil would follow up. That doctor did absolutely nothing but take an x-ray, and I never heard from Dr. Weil at all. It was quite clear he and his nurse just didn't care. Thank heavens for chiropractors; I was in tremendous pain and could hardly walk for several weeks, and the chiropractor was the only one who helped. This experience was great for engendering cynicism about the medical profession. I will likely look for another primary care doctor because of all of this.
