Ratings for Dr. Henry W. Snead
I have been seeing Dr Snead for about a month and a half now. During this time I have lost 60 lbs and will continue the program until I hit my goal of 100 lbs. I know there are lots of people who have had a bad experience with this Dr., but I assure you that if you follow the program that the pounds will come off! I know there will be an interesting transition off of the diet and am ready for that next challenge. I feel the minimal costs associated with this program will be more than worth it. Before meeting with Dr. Snead I did the reasearch, I saw that he was reprimanded and forced to pay a fine and do some re-education. That was quite a few years ago and it also states that he would lose his license if he didn't complete the requirements. Well, he is still in business... In closing, he and his program may not be right for you, but for me it was just what I needed. If you are thinking of weight loss programs, I think you owe it to yourself to review all of your options before choosing. I feel comfortable with my decision in Dr. Snead's program.
This doctor was reprimanded by the Iowa Board of Medicine in 2010 for "failing to provide appropriate treatment to weight loss patients". He was found to be lacking medical knowledge, clinical reasoning and was told to complete an education plan. If this doesn't prove to you that he is incompetent and should not be promoting a very unhealthy, unsafe, and dangerous diet.. I don't know what will. It is sick that he still has a medical license and continues to "treat" patients.
This man should not be licensed. Four hundred calories and medication that is bad for your heart he's absolutely a quack...exercise healthy eating and change in lifestyle should be recommended but he tells you to starve yourself and take meds that are harmful..horrible experience. He should be ashamed of his "practice"
I am 20 years old. While in high school, I was always a normal weight. Once I graduated, I gained 50 lbs in a year. As Dr. Snead will tell you, everyone will tell you not to do this diet. People will say "it's not healthy"... But neither is being obese, which is who this diet it for, people with a BMI of 30 or higher. I started at 180 lbs at 5'4". Staying on the program as directed, I lost 26 lbs my first month and a total of 50 in three months. The phentermine effects everyone differently, but the only side affect i experienced was feeling cold all the time. The pill did it's job and I often had to remind myself to even eat the 400 calories. I felt motivated to get up and get things done. If you stick to your diet plan, and do the daily walks, you will see results! And with dr. Snead, you can always start over after you've started. He is very honest and will tell you how it is, but at that point you're not there to be babied, you're there for you,
I do not think this diet is completely healthy but that is why he encourages the use of multivitamins to supplement you for what you are lacking. Most people take a multivit with any diet plan or no diet plan, why? People say this is the unhealthy quick fix that won't work. That depends on you. This diet is about kicking those bad habits and trying to replace them with new ones.If you are a snacker that doesn't exercise and is tired all the time, this diet HELPS you to change those bad habits.Yes it is done quickly but most people become motivated to make changes when they SEE changes in themselves QUICK.Take the phentermine, you aren't hungry, you have energy to exercise, and you see results fast(motivation!).Phen is not a life long fix! The rest is up to you. You have to make the effort to exercise and choose not to eat that sugar you are craving. Even off phen you have to continue with those good habits.Have lost 15lbs in 1week continue to lose 1lb per day.
I started my diet with him at the end of may. I am now down 68 pounds. I feel great and the diet has changed my perspective on food. I will say he is a very blunt and brutally honest man, but I didn't go there to be babied. I have had a few bumps on the diet, but there is no way I could get results like this anywhere else. The negative comments really just tell me that folks did not follow the diet. That is not the doctor's fault, it is an extreme diet and it's not for the week willed.
i went to him for weight lose, i felt terrible on this diet, even dreamed i was eating i was so hungry went for 3 weeks and his so called nurse weighed me and said since i didnt lose any weight that the dr wouldnt see me and told me to leave i told her i didnt cheat and she was rude telling me that i did cheat, to make a long story short i ran out of his office in tears and went to mcdonalds and said screw dr snead refusing to ever go back to the quack what i found very ironic is he sent me a bill for that day he kicked me out of his office and hes not getting a dime of my money and to be honest i really dont think the man even likes woman from the way i was treated and from what other people know of his past
I was a patient of his for his weight loss diet. Of course I lost weight but who wouldn't on a 400 calorie diet and amphetamines. I lost weight so fast that my gallbladder had to be removed which is common with sudden gain or loss. I have heard him talk in a negative way about overweight people calling them "cows and fat" I have seen him be rude to others and I am wondering about his medical knowledge. I was also informed that he physically abuse a wife and finacee and verbally abused many others.
