Ratings for Dr. Kevin Sloan
I have been a patient of Dr. Sloan's for almost 20 years. I see him once a year for a mole check. I had to cancel (I left a message on the office voicemail) my last appointment and asked for someone from the staff to call me back to re-book, when it became apparent that it would be nearly impossible to get through on the phone. No-one bothered to call me back. I called again a few months later and left another message. I actually forgot about re-booking my appointment while I was waiting for a phone call that never came. But I have a fair number of moles and a family history of skin cancer, so recently I left a curt message on their voicemail, asking for someone to call me back. I then received a very short (she couldn't get me off the phone fast enough!) and borderline rude call from one of the office secretaries. She informed me that I would have to get a referral to see Dr. Sloan because of the amount of time that has elapsed. This, after they never called me back to begin with, and after being a patient for almost 20 years! No thanks! His office staff are the worst! I actually heard from another doctor about an excellent dermatology clinic in Welland I am taking my business there!
Both my husband and I are patients. We have no complaints. Dr. Sloan has been excellent. What others may seem as 'rushed' I see as being efficient. I appreciate that I seldom have to wait and the appointment is as quick as it needs to be. If I have questions or concerns I am prepared when I arrive. If I have questions that arise during the appointment he certainly addresses them. Dr. Sloan is friendly and professional. The staff are lovely and friendly and professional. I do like the family photos too.
Was referred to Dr. Sloan for rosacea. First visit was given a phamplet about rosacea and prescribed 2 medications. He spent maybe 1 minute actually looking at my face then brought in a woman who tried to sell me overpriced facial creams. Asked to see me again in 2 months. During the second visit when I told him neither medication was having any effect, he said the one really wasn’t necessary for me because I didn’t have the little pimples commonly associated with rosacea. Ok. So why prescribe it in the first place and have me taking 4 pills a day for something I didn’t need and was ultimately useless? Again he spent less than a minute actually looking at my face, seemed rushed and basically washed his hands of me. Said I had a lot of broken capillaries on my face and recommended laser therapy (not covered) by a doctor in another city. No interest in anymore follow up visits or seeing me again. Gee thanks. Reception and all female staff were friendly and nice, punctual both times despite a busy office. Unfortunately my time with the actual Dr. was short and rushed and I left feeling discouraged. Considering I was sent there for issues regarding my FACE and feeling self conscious about it, a little more compassion and help would have been appreciated. Will be looking for another doctor.
I was recently referred to Dr Sloan and was skeptical due to the reviews I have been reading. I found the girls at the front office to be very polite and seemed to having a great time. Was nice to see in a specialist office. The lady that called me in pronounced my name wrong, and was ordering me to take off my boots in a harsh tone. Didn't seem to be very polite. Dr Sloan seemed to be in a rush. He looked at my body and sprayed me with a liquid nitrogen and told me to come back if I had any problems. All in all, I felt rushed and the only good thing was the ladies at the front desk.
