Ratings for Dr. Penelope A. Yanni
Have had Dr. Yanni for over 5 years and nothing but wonderful things to say about her. Listens and truly cares. She had made time on numerous occasions to fit me in due to emotional emergencies and I in turn, when have a regularly scheduled appt have to wait because of the same for someone else, have no issue with it. Has always returned my calls and need for a refill. Staff is awesome. Keep in mind, because of the type of practice, people may be more judgmental in their rating of her. Have been going to that practice for over 10 ten years with various doctors before Dr Yanni - these doctors & therapists have made a BIG difference in my life.
Dr. Yanni does not care about her patients. I have seen Dr. Yanni for over three years and It was the worst decision I've ever made. She overprescribed my meds and this led to me having a hard time coming down off of them. I told her that I wanted to get to a lower dose and she ended up upping my dose by a different method using a different type of the same medicine, just now extended release. She did not listen to the initial problems and uses medication to get you in and out of her office as quick as possible. Please do not listen to the above posts as they are NOT TRUE. It takes her DAYS to get back to you on phone calls which can be dangerous especially when your prescription is time sensitive and can lead to nausea, seizures and other serious problems associated with withdrawal from the medication. Please be careful if you choose her as your psychiatrist, as my experience, and others I know has been awful. I hope this was helpful!
Dr. Yanni is by far the best provider I've ever encountered. I've been with her for about 4 years and consider her a staunch ally as I battle add and depression. She even treated my mother for free before she died. She posesses all the best characteristics of a great dr...
Dr. Yanni is a kind and responsive doctor who really LISTENS to what you tell her and always answers her phone calls the same day. I've had PTSD for 6 years and she's the first MD (and I've been to several) who doesn't force me to try or stay on meds that I don't feel are working for me. She is from England so don't expect her to act like an American. But if you want someone who is kind, polite, and truly wants to help you get better and will take the time to do so, she really does care.
