frankly, i read all the comments about Dr De La Rocha before my appointment with him at Rudd clinic (Mississauga).. I was kinda prepared for the worst. Instead, it turned out to be perhaps one of the best doctors visit I have had ever (if there is a such a thing).... i have been to different locations to Rudd clinic before, and seen other doctors there and each visit was unpleasant... in the Dr de la rocha's case, he was a thorough professional and seemed like he genuinely cared about your problem.. frankly, I havent ever had a doctor show such empathy, and trust me, when the problem is what I have (fistula) most doc dont have any empathy or bed side manners... but De La rocha was just great in that respect.. even the nurse in the room was a thorough professional and you can tell the doc had a lot to be credited for that..... I also read about the legal problems that he has been involved in... and I shared those with some friends before my visit, and surprisingly, each one of my friends said that despite him getting in legal trouble, the nature of his 'legal issues' only highlights the fact that he really care about quality of life... and although it may seem ironic given what he did in those legal cases, the fact is, that i experienced this first hand... given the crappy (pun intended) nature of my condition, I have never had any doc show as much respect, care and bedside manners (and i am a dude for crying out loud) as Dr. De la rocha... not only that, after the initial examination, he sat down for a good 20-25 mins to explain why i have the condition, what could have prevented it, and what I need to do to stop it from getting worse... sometimes I think that if the doctors I initially went to years ago had given me the advice that he gave, perhaps my condition wouldnt be as bad as it is today... finally, in order to get an absolute idea of the extent of my problem, I really want to get an MRI done... before seeing Dr De la rocha, i met with 3 specialists (one in another location at rudd, one in a hospital in mississauga, and another specialist in toronto) and each one of these specialists refused to refer me to an MRI and instead kept pushing me for a surgery... i have basically wasted more than a year trying to get a specialist to refer me to an MRI, and each one said that they rather go for the surgery and find out at the operating table the extent of the damage.... after my initial examination with Dr De la rocha, i once again, against odd requested an MRI, and i believe his words were "its you right to know as much as possible about yourself before you make a big decision such as a surgery" and gladly gave me the referral... in fact, when I noticed he refered me to a hospital that was different that the one I was hoping for, he quickly asked for a new form and refered me to a hospital on my choice.... I realise that given his field of work, he may have had not so pleasant interactions in the past (hence the comments below) but the level of professionalism and true care that he showed me during my visit (especially given the numerous crappy doc visits i have had over the last year or so) just meant I had to write something in his defense...

Dr. de la Rocha immigrated to Canada from Mexico where he graduated from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Mexico is a hotbed for parasites and unfamiliar infectious diseases , such as amebiasis, a source of infectious cysts , what I take to be trojan horses of the potentially lethal variety of the microbial world, de la Rocha is suspected of involvement in experimental virology, parasitology and/or of being an asymptomatic carrier, transmitter or purveyor of parasitic disease. de la Rocha has since moved from Timmins to Markham, Ontario.

when someone refers you to see a specialist, you should not blame the patient if you are not the most appropriate doctor to see the patient. Also, some lessons on how to interact with people are in order. This doctor is very rude, I would suggest you see someone else if you have an option.
