I had a routine colonoscopy a large ascending benign mass with architecture of high grade dysplasia was found. Dr. Torres was referred as the surgeon to remove the mass - meeting with him he was very detailed and precise in explanation of what, when, where and how with visual aides in charts, books and models. He touched briefly IF it were cancer how we would treat it - he was very sensitive to the fact of unknown pathology report until after surgery. He comforted me and my husband in his faith of "prayer" and offered his personal cell phone number for any future questions. His parting words were ok to get another surgeons opinion. His bedside manner gave me comfort, and a man of faith - but I did get a second opinion. The 2nd surgeon I went to I waited in the examining room 30 mins., he had no visual aids to explain procedure, quote "If I went to Vegas I would bet on cancer". This doc had jet fuel arrogance with no bedside manner,my surgery 6/3 with Dr Torres was successful, no cancer
