Ratings for Dr. Amin Javer
The only thing DR javer cares about is money. Just ask why he has a private clinic at False creek that churns out patients at 10 grand per surgery and St Pauls has a 4 yr waitlist. Puts you through loops to get CT done which then gets lost somehow and never follows up with you and his receptionists are burnt out dummies. he gets his students who don't speak English to do his consults and then decides on surgery for everyone from spending 4 minutes in a room with you.
I first went to see Dr Javar when I was sixteen. At the time I had a severely deviated septum and i couldn't breath through my nose. I had seen other ENTs who had recommended other more invasive surgeries previously. When Dr Javar told me about endoscopic surgery I was so relieved. It seemed like the golden key to solving my sinus problems. Due to the incredibly long wait list that Dr Javar had and the severity of my sinus congestion caused by the deviated septum, Dr Javar recommended that I get the surgery done privately with him at his False Creek clinic. At this point my mom and I were so desperate to get this solved that we got together enough money and I had the endoscopic surgery done privately. The surgery was a massive success. I could breath through my nose one week after surgery for the first time in my life really. But a few years later I noticed that my right nostril was a bit constricted. I emailed Javar about this issue and he pretty much sloughed it off so I just let it be. Unfortunately the problem just kept getting worse and worse. I went to see Dr Javar again and he said there could be some allergies involved. I got tested for allergies and they found no source of allergen. I went back to him again and he scheduled me for a CAT scan and then never got back to me. Another year or so later I made another app. with him and he said my turbinates were enlarged. He said he could schedule me for a less effective surgery through the public system or he could perform a better surgery technique privately and I wouldn't have to wait. The problem is that it seems very obvious to me and other people that have looked at my nose that the cartilage in my right nostril has somewhat collapsed and obstructed the airway. It seems like hes just trying to scam money out of me. It makes me sad that he even has a private practice. I bet if he didn't have his own clinic he wouldn't have such long wait lists. I'm so disappointed in how this turned out. Especially since my sinus problems haven't even been solved 😞. I just want to be able to sleep properly. I'm still in my early 20s and im a university student with a developing brain, not getting adequate sleep can't be good.
Dr. Javer helped relieve chronic sinusitis by opening my frontal sinus passages, and saved my career as a scientific research diver. I owe everything to him and his very competent staff. He has always answered my emails and gone above and beyond to accommodate.
Thanks Dr Javer! He has repaired every mess other ENT Dr.s have done to me including the reversing an unnecessary Frontal Sinus Obliteration done in the 80s and most recently removing clips and subsequent mucoseal cyst left in my eyeball from 1975 sinus surgery. He's really the best!
I have nothing but good things to say about Dr Javer and his staff! Unfailingly helpful and kind. Very knowledgeable. I have to say that I don't understand the odd negative comment. Dr Javer is the second sinus surgeon I've seen and he is day to the night of the previous surgeon! Not even in the same galaxy, let alone on the same planet! I'd also like to commend the great post-op care I got at St Pauls Hospital. Very focussed, gentle and competent.
This man completely cured me of my inflamed turbinates and his knowledge and professionalism is astounding. I think it is no surprise that I'm sure he is the best ENT in BC, if not one of the very top in Canada. My only regret is not going to him sooner and having several failed procedures from another ENT.
Dr. Javer continues to follow-up with me following sinus surgery over three years ago. I recently had a different surgery on my brain out of province and had potential complications that needed to be addressed. Dr. Javer was able to help me with a professional diagnostic assessment, responding to all my fears and explain the cause of the persistent nasal drip. I am so fortunate to be his patient and ever-grateful for his excellent care!
