Practical, pragmatic, caring, just the best! She never gives the impression that she is in a hurry, and is genuinely interested in you outside the exam room...what is going on in the rest of your life.

She does not believe that a primary care physician needs to "document" abnormally high blood sugar levels of a patient. Meaning: if your doctor understands, by blood tests, that you are diabetic, s/he does not have to do anything about it. S/he doesn't even have to tell you about it, by Dr. Mackstaller, let alone treat you for it. If you happen to be diabetic, and not know about it and therefore not get treated for your diabetes by your primary care physician, that is alright by her, even if she finds out by blood tests, that you are diabetic. This physician is a member of the Arizona Board Of Medical Examiners and dismissed a complaint about a colleague, who did not inform/treat a patient with repeatedly high fasting blood glucose levels. When bad medicine finds Board approval, medical negligence and malpractice become the standard of care. Dr. Mackstaller approves negligence and malpractice. Beware.
